They came up short of the ultimate prize but before this last decade and a bit the Sabres were a consistent playoff threat and solid all around team for over a decade.

And they had Hasek back in the day as another highlight era.

I think he was in a new and tough spot with vets where he was just not in a good spot to be doing the usual CP3 leadership style.

It’s a lot different constantly harping on 20 something guys that are generally new to the league and have a lot of room to learn and grow than it is a bunch of 10 year+ vets while he’s also playing like complete garbage on the court

I’d rather have a passionate person who wants to win and get things right than everyone just accepting or ignoring what’s happening in front of them.
