I’ll never forget watching Ant the spring of his rookie season and thinking, “wait, they might actually have drafted a *The Guy*”. I was bullish on him from day 1 and even still, I was wrong about his ceiling. I remember thinking that 25-5-5 would be an awesome career peak for him, but here we are already and he’s 24 putting up 30 a night. Hope he keeps proving me wrong for another decade.

I remember feeling so unsure about him when we drafted him (LaMelo seemed safer and a better fit with KAT) but damn I’m glad to get to root for AntMan now

Yup. He’s playing at an unfortunate time where all-time great players are at the height of their prime, in most other eras, a 24 year old putting up these numbers would be revelatory.

He’s way too much of a high volume 3 point shooter for that I think

Nah Jordan played exceptional against good teams, Ant gets most of his stats against below 500 teams

Yup, been saying this a lot lately. He’s barely even an afterthought in any best in the league conversations, and it’s no disrespect to him that that’s the case.

Jokic is a top 10 player all time already; Giannis is the second best PF of all time; and SGA, as we’re learning in real time, appears to also on an all-time great trajectory. Just not a lot you can do as a 24 year old developing into an MVP caliber player in the shadow of all-time greats like that.

Yeah, the most I could see from him this season is maaaybe leapfrogging Giannis for a top 3 finish. Nobody is touching the SGA/Jokic race

Yup, really disappointing game. They came out and within the first five or six minutes the team just collectively decided the pelicans weren’t worth their time and effort. They tightened the screws in the closing minutes of the 4th and OT, but for the first 80% of the game this was truly some of the worst defense they’ve played all season.
