40 pt game without 15 fts. get in here boys
Farm to table, free range.
Organic Hoops
Ethical buckets
So ethical that God is ringing JB asking for advice
Free (mid range)
14-18 from 2 is crazy
Balling out the way god intended
I’m contractually obligated to hate the Celtics as a franchise, but on an actual basketball level, I have to admit they are one of the better teams to watch play imo. Also, for some reason it occurred to me tonight that the Celtics are bald as fuck. Like, y’all gotta have the least amount of hair per capita in the league right?
Hair is for suckas anyway.
Anthony Edwards would like a word.
Also my ethical king Donovan Mitchell
He’s been so damn good this year
Boston gonna be a problem when JT returns
This is starting to remind me of when KD went out and Westbrook stepped up.. like both were already all-star caliber, but the void helped them, or rather gave them the chance take it to an even higher level.
If we have a decent enough record I could see him getting a 3rd team selection maybe 2nd team if we’re top 4 in the East. 30/5/5 with this roster has to get love
He easily has a second team selection. Hes been a straight beast and has been carrying us.
I think if he gets 2nd team it’ll be because some guys might not hit the 65 game mark. Things are tricky now with positionless all nba.
I mean SGA got his first All-NBA First Team selection as a 10th Seed back in 2023 and that was before they even implemented the 65-game
All nba wasn’t positionless in 2023 so him and Luka making 1st team made sense. They needed two guards. Jokic was 2nd team all nba that season despite being runner up for MVP. He would’ve been 1st team all nba under the current criteria.
It wasn’t but the voters are still voting the same way in the past 2 seasons with 2 Guards/2 Forwards/1 Center so there really isn’t a meaningful difference
That’s not true last year on the 2nd and 3rd teams 3 guards made it on each of those teams .
In 2024 3guards made it on 3rd team which is why jaylen got snubbed
If he keeps it up and gets the celtics the 3rd or 4th seed. I can see him getting 1st team. Big IF though
He’s looking like a top ten player this season so 2nd team is likely with a decent record
I think the team record will be the main factor
Obviously second team wtf. You could see him getting 3rd team??
Team record plays a factor . I think we would need close to 50 wins to make it a lock
That’s just historically not true man.
It absolutely is. How do you think mitchell made first team last year?
For all star teams record doesn’t play a factor but all nba it does
Idk if one player, two if you think Mobley didn’t deserve 2nd, counts as a historical precedent
Luka made 1st team in ‘23 with a <.500 Mavs team, Dame made 3rd the same year with 33 wins. Randle got 2nd team in ‘21 with ~25/10/6 and the Knicks were only on pace for 46 wins in an 82 games season
You’ll find more cases of players making it despite their records than thanks to
SGA made the 1st in 2023 with a 10th seed thunder lmao
Yep.
They already won a ring with JT, it’s just gonna be business as usual of stomping through the East
Colour me unconvinced on that happening. I know the workout videos and everyone saying he wants to come back, but there’s a huge difference between being “healthy” and actually being ready for playoff minutes
Who said it’s this year
He’s going to come back this season, almost all Celtic fans are convinced of it.
Whether it’s a good idea or not is another discussion, although I have a hard time believing the organization would let him suit up if he wasn’t good to go.
I don’t love his first NBA minutes post injury being in the 26-27 season if we’re trying to get back in contention then. Give him 15-20 mins every other game for march and April, regardless of standings (obviously only if he is completely healthy) to let him get his sea legs back to let him figure out what to work on over the summer
I think we hold out Tatum for next season. Doesn’t make sense to rush him back.
We are 7-3 in our last 10. I think there’s a scenario where he will badly want to play this season.
I know JT is a competitor but you have to think long term . More likely than not we not winning this year so wait until next year. Make some moves in the off-season
The idea of him playing too soon scares me but we could be that Cinderella team this year. I think Mazzulla is that good.
I think with the way the East is we could legit be a tough 2nd round exit for anyone. But without Tatum I think we’re capped out. Having a healthy Tatum means ECF this year based on how teams are playing . I think Cleveland taking a step back and the pacers going through injuries and the Knicks not looking like they took the next step meant we would’ve had a path to sneak into the finals again. But let’s be real without a full roster we can’t compete in a 7 game series against a OKC/Denver/Lakers/Rockets rn.
I think we have a shot at the ECF/finals with a healthy Tatum (big if) but also another trade.
Should see if we can get a decent 4th option from a tanking team for Simons+filler+picks.
Only one way to find out…
It’d be foolish to let him play this year after seeing what happened with dame & haliburton last year
It’s not rushing him back if he’s 100%. He can’t be 101%
People never understand this. It’s extremely frustrating.
He’s been unbelievable these past few weeks. Definitely a capable #1 option. Watching Brown has been a huge silver lining of this season every said was already lost
He is exactly what the brown stans always hoped he would be. We all secretly wanted to see JB as a 1, but I never wanted him to leave or JT to leave, the injury sucks but this yr is a gift
Is he better than Tatum ?
Both can turn it on
No. Id reckon Tatum on high usage with the green light could put up numbers similar to giannis had he not been injured. We saw in the playoffs last year against Orlando Tatum on high usage gave us 3 straight 35+ point games including a near 35 point triple double. I think Tatum would be averaging like 31/11/8 or like 30/9/7 or something
Tatum is still a better rebounder and playmaker than Jaylen and a better outside shooter and free throw shooter. But brown is better at attacking straight line and has a better midrange game .
I think brown is closing the gap though . I think brown rn is like 80-85% of pre injury Tatum rn . If Tatum comes back like 85-90% that would be like perennial all nba but no longer dark horse MVP level but still top 10. Having brown take that leap helps cushion if Tatum is never the same again
No, but he is significantly more ethical.
Yes and no. Browns game is more aesthetically pleasing on a game to game basis but Tatum is more efficient and when Tatum is hot he can go toe to toe with anyone in the league
For the purposes of our offense, Tatum is just better at drawing two and getting our offense in swing swing. Brown is the dude that can get to his spots whenever.
I think brown benefitted from Tatum’s gravity. It’s no coincidence teams double Tatum rather than brown.
Not to say brown hasn’t elevated his game though but Tatum can get to his spots as well and create for others. I think the scoring gap has closed a good amount but until brown can slightly improve that outside shooting and efficiency I still think Tatum is better . Remember scoring has exploded this season in general and Tatum had led the 2020’s in total points scored in the regular season and playoffs and averaged 27-30 ppg for half a decade . I think Tatum would be clearing 30 ppg rn if healthy because he can make 3’s at a high volume and still attack when needed. His mid range game can be deadly when he’s locked in. Look back at that game winner against the pelicans or the playoff series against Cleveland late in games
Of course. Tatum is also a bigger threat inside with his finishing and ability to hit FT’s better.
However, the one thing that is helping JB, is that playing as the primary ball handler allows him the spacing to get to his spots more. Hoping that when Tatum’s back they can mix in the looks so we can play with both Tatum’s pace and space and Jaylens iso game.
After Tatum’s injury? Probably tbh but only time will tell
Yes
Absolutely not dude
Tatum is a bum
A bum with 5 all nba teams ok
What does he do exceptionally? Besides crap his pants half the time in the Playoffs, never seen a more inconsistent “superstar” only got 4 all nba teams because of position now he’ll never get a first again
He has 4th most career points before turning 27 others include Kobe lebron and KD, hes also an excellent defender. He does alot of things well.
Excellent? Hes good not excellent. Cool he scores points but does he have some signature move? What does he do when the game slows down and you need a bucket? Is he reliable? I’d argue he is one of the least reliable players in the league in the playoffs
Stop it
Guys like him are the reason why nba is in a golden era of talent
As a long time Jaylen Brown slanderer I have to admit he’s been impressive this season. Pretty much not allowing the Celtics to tank.
Youre a Heat fan, you can keep legally slandering Jaylen Brown and nobody should bat an eye
I’m glad you admit it and appreciate the honesty. He’s too prideful to tank
They should tank. Top 3 is too crazy not to
Wow a likable Miami fan?
Side note: I hate how Spoelstra (+Front office) turns no names into actual NBA roleplayers all the damn time
Man is on a heater with a consistent whistle he’d average 35
He is the best wing player in the league right now it’s not even close
That gave me whiplash because I forgot that Bron and KD are slowing down
Jaylen averages 31/7/5 per 36 minutes. This game will probably push the scoring a little higher but I think if Mazzula really wanted to give him those minutes he could legit average 32 ppg
I was told he wasn’t a top 25 player the past few years
He’s top 12-15 for sure this year .
Has been for years
I think he was closer to 15-20 in prior years. Last year he had taken a step back and slumped hard . He’s only been all nba 1x his whole career. He was more of a perennial all star guy prior.
This is the first time since 2023 I feel confident he’ll snag an all nba and won’t be robbed . He’s 29 and at his peak now. He’s def a low-mid tier all nba guy instead of a high tier all star
He definitely should’ve been All-NBA in 2024 though. I still feel like that 2024 Celtics team is extremely underrated
Had KP been healthy for the playoffs people would have been able to see how good they were. There was no weakness on offense or defense. Even shooting 3s they had no one that could be ignored, except Kornet when he played, which wasn’t often in that season.
I was told that Anthony Edwards is better than this guy.
Lets get crazier, I was told Mikal Bridges is better than this guy.
Okay, a couple more, I was told Ben Simmons, Pascal Siakam, and Zach Levine are better than this guy.
I mean I’d still take Ant. You act like he didn’t just drop 44 tonight
Yeah ANT is ahead of where brown was at his age and led his team to 2 WCFs let’s not get ahead of ourselves lol.
But brown is def up there and I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets into top 10-12 convos if we finish the season strong and he keeps this uo
And you act like JB didnt just outperform him in a h2h like this week. There is more to the game than scoring, but it took me a few years to learn that as an NBA fan.
Ant has much better advanced stats. Also Ant outplayed him in the clutch that game. We wouldn’t have this convo without Ant’s 3 minute game where he got injured. He’s averaging 32 on 64%TS without that game
Because Jaylen can’t take the first 3 quarters off.
JB shoots 58%TS at almost 4 TOs a game
All factual. R/nba had some crazy popular sentiments about this guy. Edwards is one of one tho
Some of y’all must be new. I remember the Buddy Hield > Jaylen Brown arguments.
https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/Etjxd3Le3Z
my personal favorite: https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/dma1ln/boston_celtics_new_115_million_dollar_man_jaylen/
He had no handles but now he can move with the ball and it’s way OP
This dude is playing out of his damn mind.
Knicks v Celtics will always be a classic, great game by JB.
not our JB tho. el capitan was ass today
It’s brunson man he’ll probably drop 30+ the next game
Bro is top 10
All those offseasons training with McGrady really paying off. Brown is at his peak his game is so smooth in the midrange yet he knows when to throw it down with authority .
We beat New York, Cleveland and the Pistons with a roster that’s been gutted since last year. The league needs to watch out when Tatum comes back. The Jays aren’t done making deep playoff runs. Especially with Brown elevating himself into an all nba level guy again . Even if Tatum is only 85-90% of what he was pre injury the league needs to watch out for us
He’s good.
What a fucking game
All nba
That’s our fucking MVP right there
All. Star. Glad he’s earning some more respect this season
All Star? ALL-NBA
More like All NBA
This guy is a 1 if anyone wants to shut down that bullshit rhetoric
He’s absolutely top 10 in the league this season , possibly top 8. Lmao knciks thought they had an easy road in the playoffs but east is looking pretty tough this year, also the Knicks are the biggest frauds in the league
The Knicks SHOULD be good. And they are.
A down game from Brunson and no OG killed them. However, they’re never gonna be contenders. That would require KAT to really lock in and become a dawg. He has the talent. I just see so many lapses from him checking out mentally.
Jaylen is closer in mindset to Jimmy Butler. Dude just wants to win. He needs to get better at playmaking but he is improving little by little.
Mike Brown waited way too long in this game to send doubles at him. JB used to crumble under double teams. Now he has… mixed results. If he gets better at that, and Tatum can come back at a reasonable level of himself, then watch out.
Even without OG they should’ve beat us tbh. We’re down a top 5 player and two high contributing starters who averaged a combined around 35 ppg last season
We may need to have some Jaylen Brown discussions soon.
Hairline Lord
He’s sooooo good. Mesmerizing.
Mind you he had a dog shit first quarter too lol
Multi all star, finals mvp, and has been really underrated this season based on his play. Celtics imo can come out of the east if Tatum, and that’s a big if, can look close to his pre injury form this season.
Jaylen Brown is Vegeta holding off Kid Buu while Tatum/Goku heals up for SSJ3
Glad he’s getting his shine as the number one exceeding all expectations
I like this man, the MVP
One of my favorite players
this is an ethical stat line, the opposite of harden and SGA
I guess C’s really aren’t going for a top pick so the tanking teams can rest easy now.
From that dunk in the 2nd quarter to the end, Jaylen wasn’t letting a hair get away from him tonight.
LOL
Exactly what we expected from him without Tatum. Show us why you got that finals MVP. I wonder if Tatum will even consider coming back this season because if brown can hold it down with a decent playoff spot they could be a dark horse
ethical ball
As a certified celtics hater, brown has been lit this season.
You’ve heard of the ball boy but what about the bald boy?
Organic. Ethical. Pure.
garbage ass defense from the Knicks, but that’s par for the course for a Mike Brown team
Jordan had a great run Chicago but Jaylen Brown - he’s coming.
Rude
Has he learned to dribble left handed yet?
See how that goes when OG Anunoby is healthy again 😂
