Won 43 games with LaMelo Oubre PJ and Miles and kept the worst one out of the bunch. Oubre and PJ would be perfect for this team as they understand how to be complementary pieces on offense while still being active positive defenders.

Too many times do I engage in Hornets content, media, and games and everyone in that environment seems to bow down to Miles or hold him in such high regard as some veteran leader core piece of the team.

He’s the definition of a progress starts after you guy. Seeing how Kon LaMelo Brandon coexist has to happen without Bridges in the picture before you even give up on that trio completely. LaMelo and Brandon played some of their best ball together without Miles last Fall when he was out, replacing his minutes with high IQ safety net players like Kon, Sion, & Sexton would do wonders for progress but it seems like Charlotte is content on losing and praying for a savior in the lottery.

They understand how to be complementary pieces, Miles was one of the premier guys. My point is Miles is not a guy you want as one of your cornerstones. It was clear LaMelo was the franchise player going forward so naturally you build according to his strengths.

It’s the same reason why a team like Indiana identified that although Haliburton found success alongside Buddy and they both thrived offensively— Nesmith, Nembhard, and Turner were the superior complementary guys to really make this team work on both ends as a unit. Later topping it off with the Siakam deal as the big move to push them over.

The Hornets, were obviously sidetracked by injuries after the 43 win season, but it’s like they completely misunderstood why that ²¹⁄₂₂ roster worked and why their franchise player thrived and succeeded.
