I disagree with the notion that Des has been the clear primary option because we effectively have not had a consistent primary option throughout that latest stretch of games and that can even be an advantage because it makes the offense less predictable.

What we do is simply playing through the hot hand right now. In the last two games that has been largely Bane, vs. the 76er that was Anthony Black and vs. the Knick it was Franz.

This can even change in the middle of the game as Franz had higher usage and shot attempts in the first half and then it shifted to Des who really got it going in the second one.

We can play that way because

a) for the first time in ages we have more than two players that can get hot and score in bunches and
b) the other scoring threats can be effective off ball and support the hot hand

Bane made himself the primary option vs Detroit. He went into that game with a chip on his shoulder. He mentioned it in the half time and post game interviews. He willed Orlando to that win. I don’t think he started tonight off with that same intention, but he took over when we needed him to do so. Coach pulled him early so he could be the first starter back on the floor with the second unit and take over.

You’re not wrong though, the team is getting good at recognizing the hot hand, the effort, and riding it when needed.

We were trash this game until Bane and AB came to life in the back half of the 3rd quarter. Franz kept on turning it over possession after possession, Suggs kept on chucking 3s, it was ugly as fuck.

Trust me, this team is not better without Paolo. It is just coasting on good fortune right now. The offense is way too lethargic for way too long in games to be considered good.

the game winning slam by wendell carter jnr, he pushes buzelis off with one hand clear as day foul against him to get the rebound, buzelis obviously pissed off as the refs had been completely blatantly orlando favored all game and then bane runs into buzelis and shoulder bumps him, buzelis pushes back, tech on buzelis, ref straight faced into the mic “bane was trying to go up the court” when he clearly could have stepped around buzelis but instead put his shoulder into him, they had a full minute to watch the replay and they fucking lied straight to the camera.

nba is getting unwatchable with how blatantly one sided the refs are in many many games, this being one of the worst, the way they play to the home crowd putting the whistle away for the home team and gifting them soft fouls when they’ve got no momentum is disgusting, it’s so predictable, you see it in real time, the refs just step in and fuck the game, incompetence or being paid out by the betting industry, it makes for the most frustrating and unfair games to try and enjoy as a sports fan, teams win not out of merit, but out of how fucking trash and terrible at their jobs the refs are

and the ft disparity at the end of the third qtr, 10 to bulls, 28 to orlando
