That’s also just what name value does. Lopez literally got played off the floor in his last series but he’s a former all star and was a serious DPOY candidate pretty recently so people looked at it like a genuinely good pickup instead of just being a guy who can eat some regular season minutes and maybe do well in very particular matchups like most vet min depth signings.

Happens all the time, definitely not exclusive to the Clippers.

Sure their defensive rating is worse but what is their rank? The whole league has changed. They could have the same defensive rating as last year and still wouldn’t be the same rank. Where they rank in the standings is key

Can some one educate me on why this is happening? I haven’t tuned into clippers games but rotation personnel wise, they lost Powell and replaced him with Collins and added Beal + Paul.

They still have the same defensive core of Zu, Dunn, DJJ and Kawhi.
