[Highlights] Shai Gilgeous-Alexander clutch performance last night - 10 Points on 4⁄5 FG, 1⁄1 FT and 1 assist in the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter vs. Portland Trail Blazers (with replays)
Pure ethical clutch buckets by SGA.
Yeah but he flopped that one time in the third quarter so
it’s crazy bc that was not a special flop at all, literally everyone in the league does it at some point and some get the call and some don’t. Defender got beat and stepped into SGA, that happens all the time with players who get beat on the drive, what player DOESN’T try to draw a foul while driving? So and-1’s are bad now? The issue with these dullards, has never been the attempt to draw a foul while in shooting motion, it’s the PLAYER doing it. If SGA had a stock warm up routine, he would get denigrated for ruining basketball for that too
do they even watch basketball or is it all just about odds and parlays to them
Flopped the entire game lmao
I know you weren’t watching
You are such a miserable person lol I hope you find happiness soon, bro
Wild pretty sure your state is last in quality of life lmao?
Unflaired talking shit is kinda weak Ngl
The best part is he’s from Alabama which is actually ranked lower than Oklahoma on quality of life lol
yet somehow is better than us in education
But defenders can’t get close to him because he flops! /s

AOTC
OP please take this down, no one wants to see this. I would rather cry about Shai pushing off that one time
“that one time”
oh yeah, it definitely happened just one time
You just watched a montage of clutch time points and he doesn’t push off a single time lol. You guys are just delusional.
Why are y’all in every thread’s top comment playing victim man? Y’all are historically dominant. Why do y’all need to be liked so badly too?
Why do you care how random fans feel on an online message board? Every fan feels like the protagonist in their own team’s story.
Because when any kind of discourse with a specific fan base turns into self pity victim garbage, shit is lame and discourages any engagement with them
You’re overthinking it. I asked a rhetorical question and the answer was implied by my asking the rhetorical question in the first place.
Word I’ll leave it to you Mr rhetoric thanks for the mansplaining
That’s not what mansplaining means. This is what mansplaining means.
You’re asking why we’re responding to being constantly insulted?
Watch how this post is going to be quiet unlike the pushoff or the foul from last night
The push off post was wild. Apparently there are people that actually count the number of push offs he has a game. I wonder if that data exists for other players.
Ngl it would be kinda interesting to see that info lol
For sga just look up his drives per game will be probably around half of his push offs
I comment about wanting to see data you make up shit on the spot
I comment about wanting to see data
you make up shit on the spot
?????
I’ve been out of the loop. Is this still “the most unwatchable brand of basketball?” Is SGA still a free throw merchant? Presti still a cheater and the NBA is doing everything to create the OKC dynasty? I also assume Jokic has elevated beyond God status
[deleted]
God this sub..
Winning is disgusting to watch?
The first shot of this clip he falls to ass from no contact. Completely uncessessary outcome that just trying to draw a free throw
I don’t mean this in an inflammatory way, but have you ever played basketball?
They call him Street Clothes Ernie.
He’s right though? It’s not like Shai shot that falling backwards. He pulled up straight and then just fell down because he kicked both his feet slightly forward. I don’t know why he did it but w/e.
It’s too protect ankles, falling on your but is better. It’s why curry falls on a lot of his shots too especially since he started the league with a lot of ankle trouble. You’ll see shooters including shai fall like this even when wide open when they feel they won’t land well
Shai had ankle problems in the beginning of his career and look how hard the defender close out on his jumper.
There is a whole science behind how the body handles intense physical activity. I won’t pretend to be an expert though. But I remember seeing a video describing how DRose was a ticking time bomb for those knee injuries because of how he would land after his crazy layups and dunks. He was putting tons of stress on his knees. The video also described how landing in different ways, including controlled falls help to lessen the impact on the joints and spread it across the body reducing the chance of injury. Thing of how parkour people jump off buildings and land into a roll to spread all the energy across their body as they land.
I’m sure NBA conditioning teams train players how to land better to reduce chance of injury. Especially now thay injuries are more common than ever feels like.
he literally got stepped into by a defender who was salty he got beat on the dribble. what are you all watching if not basketball?????? they replayed it 4000 times in slowmo
Where fouls and travels actually get called properly, yes
so no, you’ve never played basketball lol
Maybe it was just random, but it definitely felt to me like he really let it all out once he beat the 20pt mark, before it this game was really off from him
Yeah I think he knew about the record and it was messing him up glad it passed now
That pass was crispppp
Would be the top post in the sub if any of the LA3 did it.
It’s crazy how people can’t bring themselves to admit how good he is
And when they do have something nice to say, a lot of the time it’s “I’m a big Jokic and/or Luka fan, but I’ll admit Shai…” as if you can’t appreciate more than one great player at the same time.
What a miserable way to consume sports.
Adam Silver could do the funniest thing to actually change the rules to make a more watchable product.
And Shai and the boys would still win. Defense wind championships, nothing new.
I’m not a silver fan, but the league ratings are higher than they’ve been in years, which is clearly what he cares about.
That is what he’s paid to do.
Personally I don’t even really notice the free throws until the end of the game. That’s when it gets kind of annoying for me. Game has always been like that from grade school up, but it feels like its been stretching out longer the last few years.
Yeah I agree. I think they’ve actually made some healthy changes, like the technical foul punishment on take fouls in fast break.
I could do without all the reviews and challenges, especially late though. Really ruins the momentum and mood.
The Thunder of all teams would probably benefit way more from that lol, more leniency of defense is exactly how they thrive, and Shai would still average like 30 a game
Change the rules how? IMO the only thing that makes these games unwatchable is all the stoppages in play, and the dumbass reviews that are always obvious on the first replay but the refs take 5-10 minutes and break the flow of the game…also not sure why NBA decided to call so many ticky tack fouls every game especially after such physical nba finals where mfs where getting hand checked heavy
End of game definitely needs to go faster. No other sport gets worse to watch if it’s a close game near the end.
I think last 5 minutes reviews should be 30 seconds max, so only egregious calls get overturned
I agree with that, the last 3-5 minutes of some of these games goes on for 20-30 minutes with all the stoppage it’s ridiculous
Jokic’s huge fan, but that’s an unstoppable player in action right there.
At the start of the 4th the Blazers sideline announcer started glazing Shai and you can see why
Wow his game is aesthetically pleasing to watch
Yall can never make me hate this guy
Played like shit the whole game and then remembered he is Him
These are all badass
This was just gnarly shot after gnarly shot. Nobody better in the league rn
lmao this guy got pestered so much about only posting blazer highlights and thunder lowlights that he folded
He was clutch but without him Thunder outscored Blazers 20 to 13 at the start of 4th quarter. Thunder are crazy good.
Jdub came into the 4th looking like himself for a couple minutes
He missed like 3 open layups earlier in the game he’s lost some soft touch but after he finds his rhythm at game speed he’s gonna be torching
Right, I forgot that going on a run in an arbitrary portion of the game negates the value of hitting multiple clutch buckets with a tight game down the stretch
man you are getting real bitter on this post bro
It was a 8-0 run at the start of the 4Q, after that OKC just managed the score and got the win. Shai in the last 3 games has been dominant in the clutch.
They could never make me hate him
Hate him or love him, you gotta admit he was incredibly skilled in the clutch. I just dont like his teammates dort and caruso who get away with a lot more physicality that would get called on anyone else.
He was struggling and missing shots he makes 9 times outta 10 earlier in the game. I check his stats afterwards and see he still shot 53% from the field LOL
Shai is leading the NBA in clutch scoring at 80 points on 52⁄45 splits while sitting the entire 4th quarter in 70% of their games. He only scored 67 clutch points all year last year. His 117 clutch time fantasy points are also far and away the best in the nba, with the gap between him and #2 (Cade) being larger than the gap between Cade and #10. His clutch efficiency is otherworldly, with a 66% TS percentage and is a +1.1 PER MINUTE of clutch time play in +/-. That’s +53 per 48 clutch time minutes this year.
In other words, if you get into a close game with OKC you better put 4 defenders on shai or you are going to lose to him. Best bet is just to pray you can beat them by 10+ and not have to worry about it. People who say he’s boring to watch because he shoots less free throws than Luka are missing out on watching one of the most efficient players in the history of basketball.
bout to be back to back MVP and finals MVP
This is why people hate this guy for foul baiting, which he deserves every bit of. He’s literally too good for that.
FTA is MVP
Everyone’s afraid to touch him.
Play 1: Touched by Grant Play 2: Untouched (pass) Play 3: Touched by Sharpe (cooked) Play 4: Touched by Camara Play 5: Touched by Camara Play 6: Touched by Sharpe (intentional foul)
Bro these people aren’t bothered to watch the highlights, let alone actual OKC games
Tell me more about that. Why do you believe he gets special treatment? Have the refs been all been told to do this? If so, who told them and why? Is there a reason the NBA is conspiring to prop up a Canadian player from one of the leagues smallest markets?
Not a conspiracy. Many other elite players do it too. No one likes to see it though especially not from the best player on the best team.
We’d all like to see refs let players play and tough it out through contact. Shai, though, is confusing because he can handle contact but sometimes flops like a fish in the most embarrassing ways.
Only 1 FTA is the only amazing part
20-1 is pretty amazing too
Must be hard to guard him when his push off is a defensive foul
Crying wolves fans are actually funnier to me than any other fan base. Sound just like their whiny ass coach
Its a fair complaint lmao
This clip is tough bucket after tough bucket in clutch time in case you were wondering btw
Must be easy to score when your opponent is scared to touch you
Why doesn’t ant just do the same if its that easy
Self respect
You should follow him and stop commenting.
You should remove the rose tinted glasses
Says the guy who is a Timberwolves Fan
LOL
Why doesn’t Giannis flop?
AYYYY!
What’s wrong with saying AYY. Better than pretending like the hulk smacked you across the court
Both are in the exact same spirit of exaggerating contact that isn’t there. I consider screaming “ayy” with little to know contact is the exact same thing as flopping. You’re trying to trick the refs either way. Whether you agree or disagree is subjective and neither of our opinions matter in that regard because of course we’re going to side with the star player on our own team.
But ants getting fouled lmao. Shai is initiating his own contact and then flopping when it happens
If you think ant is truly getting fouled every time and Shai isn’t then you are unable to look past your own biases and this conversation is a waste of both of our times.
He respects himself so much that he has 4 kids with 4 different mothers
Whats wrong with that
Whats wrong with being a deadbeat father? Are you serious?
Did you watch the clip
Must be hard to be a Timberwolves fun huh
Nah I get to see an athletic scorer
But you get bounced in five by the flopper
Yeah? I also lost a game of poker to a guy with marked cards. Does it make the guy a winner? Not really
2025 NBA CHAMPION, MVP, FINALS MVP, ALL NBA 1st Team 3 years in a row and counting.
Where did he push off during this video? Also where did he push off when he dropped 37 on ya boy Ants head the other night?
Does it not exist if it’s not shown in this video ? And yes lmao
Did I say it didn’t? So Your on this thread crying about something else entirely? Make it make sense
