I got to do one of these at a Grizzlies game about 7 or 8 years ago. I missed left by about the size of a basketball but had the distance for it. Mine was for an Audi convertible.
One interesting thing about it is that they picked me before the game started and wouldn’t tell me what it was. They just asked if I’d be interested in trying to win a prize at some point during the game and were like “you definitely want to do this”. Then when it was time they pulled me from my seat and someone is filming you the ENTIRE time up through the actual shot because they have to show that you weren’t practicing beforehand or that anything else funny was happening behind the scenes. They will not let you even touch the ball before the segment starts for the crowd. I or the ball and got to bounce it once to see how it was aired up and it was a little flatter than I expected. It still was a cool experience and I had people stopping me in the streets afterwards telling me that they thought I had it.
