Laravia is good, Vincent is decent and has his occasional super impactful games, Hayes is good as long as he’s not playing starter minutes.

They’re not the Thunder or the 2024 Celtics in terms of depth but they’ve got 8-9 regularly playable guys, two of whom are in the midst of All-NBA seasons and one of whom is the best player of all time. Their depth is solid.

I’ve been a lakers fan all my life, if Pau gets retired for being a clear 2nd option and far worse than the first option and winning 2 rings. AD deserves it for being 1B at worst during that run.

They both played the same amount of seasons, AD was top 5 easily at his peak on the Lakers. Pau never sniffed top 10.

Not to discredit him but there was a number of players you could put on those lakers and they would have won 2 or more rings. There’s probably only 2-3 players that you could have put on our 2020 team and they would have won a ring.

That’s fair. I think it’s a shootout against the Nuggets. Nuggets are probably slight favs because they are slightly bigger, but Lakers have two all time great playmakers vs just the one on Nuggets. I don’t think offensive rebounding as your go to offense is a viable strategy in the playoffs. i like Lakers over the Rockets. If Rockets had FVV to give them more shooting I would favor them. But yeah that shit isn’t going to work against the Thunder. They are legit 2 levels above everyone else. Denver is the only team with a shot because of the match-up but OKC is still a level above Denver

I think in general their lack of defense and depth is going to hurt them quite a bit in the playoffs. They looked pretty good towards the end of last year’s regular season (though obviously not as good as they look rn) and their lack of depth/defense led to them losing in the first round.

Still don’t get how the Lakers are consistently omitted as the second best team in the league when healthy.

If OKC is the obvious #1, I don’t get why I regualrly see Nuggets as the clear #2, with Rockets and even Spurs more frequently getting mentioned as a top threat or #2 team.

All of those teams have suffered from the injury bug. Lakers have suffered as much as anyone from it. It’s not a valid excuse cuz Denver got hit by injury most recently.

I think the 2-5 seed in the west is open as far as who would win in a 7 game series and even who is most likely to beat OKC.

But Lakers being an underdog 2 seed is fine with me.
