McCain has looked so much more like his rookie self over the past week, collecting a bevy of stats and shooting wonderfully, especially from deep. He will continue to play a huge role off the bench for the Sixers as he deepens their amazing guard depth.

He is the back up point guard for sure.

The minutes maxey does not play are typically horrendous. Jared is a key to making the bench viable and not playing Maxey 40 minutes a night.

Yep. McCain has been coming off the bench already with those guys out, and his role will likely be the same as it is right now (about 25 minutes). Oubre doesn’t really affect it at all as he’s played SF/PF the entire season. It is likely that at least two of Maxey, VJ, Grimes, and McCain will be on the floor at any one time when all four of them are healthy and playing.

I understand this is a small sample size, but it’s pretty important that he is gaining confidence and playing well after a few games where he played only 5 minutes and was scoreless.

I think you’re gonna be surprised in a few years, he’s already clearly capable of averaging 15-20 in his first 30 nba games, that is rare. His off ball movement allows him to get open so easily, very Steph-esque. He can become a system through his off ball movement.
