There were two rule changes from Stern. One after the Pistons’ defense shut down every team en route to a championship (literally holding teams under 70).

The next change of rules wasn’t announced just told to the refs. After the Wade 06 Finals the way Wade and Bron were reffed completely changed. Ticky tack bullshit was no longer there at all for Bron. In fact if anything I think this Finals led to more physical play towards superstars.
