Miles Bridges on the crowd cheering for the opposing team in their home arena: “I hate it. I hate it a lot. It happens when the Knicks come, it happens when the Lakers come… I hate it, but we didn’t do anything to shut them up.”
I feel really sorry for Miles Bridges and deeply care about his opinion about things. Thank you to whoever keeps posting shit he says.
I’m cool with the Hornets staying completely irrelevant as long as he’s on the team
Dw you’re helping the engagement so more of it will be posted in the future
Still can’t believe this pos is in the league
As long as he keeps playing at the level he is, teams will keep on calling him.
It’s the sad truth in sports, talent trumps all.
Nobody cares what miles bridges has to say
He probably hates it as much as he hated his girlfriend before physically assaulting her.
That’s how it is when you live in a sunbelt city that draws a lot of transplants. It also happens a lot in Orlando, Phoenix, even bigger cities like Miami, Houston and Dallas.
The suns haven’t historically had that problem since the team has been in Phoenix since the 60s, with the exception of laker fans since a lot of people have moved to Phoenix from LA recently.
The dbacks and cardinals, on the other hand…
Facts, when we were in the Silas years the Lakers/Warriors fans always turned up at Toyota Center. Had to watch the games on mute lol
When Miami came to Denver the other week it was kind of shocking how many fans they had here.
My first Nuggets game was a Lakers matchup and I swear half the place was Lakers fans. A bunch of teenage lakers fans behind me started doing the simultaneous clap thing that’s super loud and obnoxious. I’m not sure I’ll go to another Lakers game ever because it was by far the worst experience I’ve had at Ball Arena lol
oh man it was super evident when the Raptors played in Tampa
We do it to the Nets too. The Cavs games were home games for us.
It happens in Brooklyn.
Also in most other organised sports around the world
It’s also partly that tickets are so fucking expensive at MSG people can save money by taking a flight to Charlotte watching a game and flying back.
Lol no one’s catching a flight from New York to Charlotte to watch a Hornets game to “save” money.
Edit: just to show you how ridiculous you sound a 12⁄3 Hornets @ Knicks ticket starts at \(140 whereas a 3/26 Knicks @ Hornets starts at \)29. You’re telling me people would rather pay $200+ for a round trip ticket (and potentially a hotel) and spend the time commuting to the airport/going through TSA rather than just paying for a ticket at MSG? lol
Also you can’t really assume the cheapest seats, cause if you go with better seats it’s not like that is going to increase your flight cost.
I just looked at both games and the difference in seating but the savings is not that significant. Maybe if you’re sitting courtside in charlotte vs NY. You also can’t really put a price on environment/aura that is Madison Square Garden
My point still stands though. Hornets playing at MSG during the regular season is not as expensive as he’s making it out to be. The $200-300+ spent on flights/accommodations would get you a much better seat at MSG and on top of that you wouldn’t need to spend at minimum 5 hours traveling (and that’s just going one way)
There definitely are people that do it. They aren’t generally choosing between nosebleeds in either stadium but trying to sit close to the court for the first time in their fandom because they can’t afford to do it at home. So maybe “save money” was the wrong phrasing they are splurging and their dollar is going further.
You are right certainly less prevalent for Charlotte regular season game. Ramps up more in the playoffs as well when everyone gets priced out by the shirt and tie crowd.
Nah save money is the right term.
NYC salaries are massive but rent is absurd so your dollar goes way further elsewhere.
Front 5ish rows at MSG are like \(600-1200. Front 5ish rows in say Knicks at NO are like \)200-400.
If your goal is to sit front 5 rows for the Knicks, you can add on a whole weekend in NO for the same price. It’s the $200k salaried business consultants doing shit like this, not the mom and pop take the kid to one game in the last row type fans.
They are if the Knicks are playing
There was an “Air Ball” chant on a Brandon Miller (I think) three in their own stadium. That’s gotta be worse than the cheering for the Knicks.
Why does Miles Bridges get posted to this sub so often who cares what he has to say he puts women in the hospital and abuses his kids
Engagement bait, you get upset come in and comment, algo bumps it up - rinse repeat
Can someone explain to me how this dude is still in the league? Didn’t beat his girl black and blue… like am I missing context or something? Didn’t he go full chris brown on that girl?
Because pro sports owners don’t care about holding their athletes fully accountable if they figure the outcry won’t persist. The only time you’ll see someone be blacklisted from playing is when there is irrefutable video evidence, such as ray rice, or if they commit a heinous crime like rape or murder.
The evidence was pretty irrefutable with him, tho?
Which is why he was charged and banned from the league for a year
He served his punishment, as long as he isn’t continuing to commit crimes why shouldn’t he be allowed to play basketball?
Miles Bridges and why the NBA needs to stop dragging it’s feet on this issue,
After reading what Miles Bridges did to his wife I can’t believe the NBA has not stepped in if you want to read what he did here
Miles Bridges made a choice. During an argument, the Hornets forward wrapped his hands around the throat of his ex and strangled her to the point muscles in her neck were torn. Bridges broke her wrist, her nose, fractured her eardrum, and gave her a concussion severe enough that she lost consciousness. This all occurred in front of two young children, scared and confused why daddy was hurting mommy. Kevin Porter was waived Josh Primo was waived Ja Morant was Suspended 25 games but no word from the NBA on this. I will boycott all Charlette Hornets Games until this Monster is waived and no longer an NBA player this type of action can’t be condoned violence against women should not be tolerated.
you can find this post on the subreddit. and if i remember correctly, his suspension was technically only ten games because while his year long suspension was going on he had a torn acl and wasn’t going to be playing anyway.
personally i feel that if you assault anyone, especially the mother of your children in front of them so severely that she loses consciousness and suffers multiple broken bones you should be banned from the league. and his apology wasn’t even about committing the crime, it was about bringing “pain and suffering” to the hornets organization. its always fuck miles bridges
“I will boycott all Charlette Hornets Games until this Monster is waived” reaching into their chris-chan grammar bag 🤡
My opinion is that it is such an incredible privilege to play in the NBA, and it’s actually super impactful on so many people’s lives, that you lose your privileges to play forever if you fuck up immensely and do something like almost kill your partner. It’s completely normal in so many other jobs to lose your registration/ability to work in the field if you’re found out to be a literal monster. NBA should crack down on it even harder as these people are genuinely massively impactful to huge amounts of people , often kids. Should be normalized and common knowledge that you could be the best basketball player in the world, but if you almost beat your partner to death, you don’t get to play in the best basketball league ever again. That seems super simple, no?
It’s not a privilege. These guys earn their spots in the league.
Lol of all the things to focus on..k. sure it’s not a privilege to play in the NBA. Point still stands. You beat the shit out of your partner, that’s it. No more playing in the NBA for you ever. All you have to do to remain a player in the NBA is this simple trick… Don’t beat the shit out of your partner. Like..how could you disagree with that?
I just think it’s about basketball, not about being morally superior human beings. If we say domestic violence gets you banned, then do we add in sexual assault? Do we add in assault and battery? Do we add gun violence/pulling out your guns at the club? Like it just turns into the nba having its own criminal code, and it’s just not about that
There’s already a morality clause in the contract, Bridges was handed out year suspension in accordance with that (which includes millions in lost salary), he served his punishment and now is clear to play basketball again, I don’t see anything wrong with that
Ya. Add in sexual assault and assault and battery. Lmao. This is so fucking simple. All you have to do to not be kicked out of the league is not be a cunt. Not sure why anyone would oppose that
Lol @ bro above “but where does it end? What, are we going to start caring about rape or something?” Yes, exactly
It was laid out for everyone to see with her aftermath photos and her own account of the situation but I’m talking about actual video evidence of it happening, so nobody can make excuses or say shit like “well what did she do to start it?” video evidence makes it so owners can’t cop out with a suspension and fine.
The nfl is even more lackadaisical when it comes to punishing their players and to use the ray rice example: they suspended him 2 games that season after his arrest, the following September, when the video was released, he was cut and suspended from the league within a day.
Players dont get blacklisted for domestic violence because fans will still continue to watch their team/league. Its really that simple.
Seriously, why do you think all sports leagues are so strict regarding players gambling? Its because fans would stop watching if there was proof that players were rigging the games.
fans don’t care either. they’re the ones who can get these guys kicked out. in the NHL when slava voynov beat his wife so horrifically it made an ER nurse cry the Kings GM tried to bring him back. then later the team tried to get him back after his suspension was technically over. the fans lost their fuckin minds (myself included) and they stopped.
he still made money playing pro hockey in the KHL. real piece of trash.
The league does not care about domestic violence as long as you’re a passable enough basketball player. Miles Bridges is playing, Kevin Porter Jr is playing, Jaxson Hayes is playing, Jason Kidd is coaching. As long as the player is good enough to make teams money, the NBA doesn’t care. And the players don’t care either. Miles Bridges still has plenty of friends all around the league, will work out with them in the offseason, swap jerseys, etc. And it’s not just a problem now, you can look back at Kobe or Karl Malone. The truth is that when you’re a good enough player the league just turns a blind eye to this stuff.
Receiving abuse at home is always difficult. I wonder if anyone he knows can relate.
Life of a wizards fan
Fans come to see the star player not just the home team
A home team which is arguably the worst in nba history. At least the pelicans had AD and the hype around Zion. Hornets have to see Lamelo or Miller on the bench cus they hurt.
The Hornets had an amazing fanbase in the 90s. Then their owner ruined all of that good will by being a creep, moved the team, and they never recovered.
Which is weak if you’re comparing it to how sports is treated in any other country. Now it’s miles bridges so he’s lucky he isn’t getting boooed every time he touches the ball
Well they fucking suck so idk what he expects
I don’t understand why they can’t at least be a play-in team with their roster. Ever since they fired borrego things have went to crap in Charlotte
Miles, as morally awful as he is, has been their most consistent player since he’s returned.
Our 2 “star” players are terrible. They’ve forgotten how to play offense and they’ve never been good on defense. If Kon is having an off night like he was yesterday, the team is completely unwatchable. Miles is an evil awful person but he at least plays like he cares every night. Brandon and Melo just roll over and die.
And thats a bad thing that he has been.
Hornets fans will tell you that Miles sucks & has hero ball tendencies that fuck them out of games all the time.
You don’t know why a team that let’s LaMelo do whatever he wants and re sign a guy who plead no contest to a felony domestic violence charge isn’t a serious organization that can’t keep tripping over their own incompetence??
How does Bridges’ charges affect his basketball? Obviously we resigned him, he’d just get picked up by someone else…
Horrible culture and giving overrated players green lights
best way to fix this is to start winning. even the wizards arena was decently loud when they were blowing out the hawks. i heard sarr get MVP chants lol.
Beat Way was Miles Bridges nickname in high school
didn’t even notice the typo lol
But now you ruined my miles bridges is abusive joke
Yeah I don’t think miles is the one to give opinions on how to shut people up
You can probably get courtside seats to a Hornets game for a shiny quarter. Gonna get a lot of opposing fans if none of the Hornets fans actually care about going.
Serious question. Why does Jaxson Hayes get no pushback. He’s also a former domestic abuser.
No one likes the Hornets
i never even heard a peep about that. good god. well fuck jaxson hayes
Why would they cheer for your wife beating ass
Should be chanting, “Hide ya kids Hide ya wife.”
I’m in Charlotte for the holiday… I was one of the only ones not Knicks gear, I was in my Tatum jersey. I get where Bridges is coming from.
They to sorry of a team to cheer for
Cheer*^
Comments can be edited, and if you edit them fast enough there won’t even be an edited tag to it.
Ooooo thanks I’ll try so
Too*
Thanks
Grammar police don’t even get Thanksgiving off smh
lol 😂 thank you for saying that
If anyone knows about abuse at home it’s this guy
[deleted]
It’s about the team…
Maybe Charlotte just really hates abusers 🤷🏽♂️
As a Nets fan, most home games I attend feel like road games because the arena is mostly filled with tourists just cheering on stars. Don’t even get me started when the Knicks come in.
Maybe he shouldn’t be shot chucking bum. Pass it to Kon you bum.
It’s hard to cheer for a bad team that trots out a domestic abuser every night.
Why he look like Dillon Brooks now?
