Two nights ago, after Klay Thompson and Myron Gardner were chirping and were given technical fouls, assistant coach Caron Butler took Gardner to the tunnel to apologize and give Klay his respect.
Who the fuck is Myron Gardner?? Bench players talking like starters, I hate it
Careful, he’s a bench player for the heat
Hes a year or two away from ECF MVP runner up
Ima a Heat fan and even I didn’t know he was on the Heat
Hey man you don’t normally become a professional athlete without having huge amounts of self confidence.
They all have huge egos
Not SNL
Jokic doesnt have a huge ego. He probably changed it for a nice saddle a very long time ago.
You can have a huge ego and still be self aware and respectful
Honestly, “huge ego” and “self aware” might not be very co-existent. Huge ego usually means that someone incorrectly believes they’re better or more important than they are. If they have a “huge ego” and the talent and accomplishments to match we just call that confidence.
If we can just call it confidence in that case, then we can’t say all pro athletes have big egos lol
But the context is a random bench player trash talking one of the best and most accomplished players all time. Thats a big ego, not just confidence.
i think it’s super weird to expect these guys to just roll over and be all nice to opposing players. who gives a fuck if Myron wants to talk shit. that is so soft. if they’re teammates it’s different, but they aren’t.
That’s why Caron Butler gets paid a lot of money to coach and mentor professional athletes and you do not.
That is why a grown ass man LISTENED to his coach and ACCEPTED the message and walked over there.
It’s because Caron Butler has probably EARNED that respect from that young man because I don’t know many young men that just decide to listen to “boomers”.
mhm. i don’t care about the NBA’s super weird culture about treating other players like gods instead of what they are. people who happen to good at basketball. you could even look at this as weird from Klay to handling this “disrespect” the way he did. acting all high and mighty. then you got stars like KD, who love when young guys come at them because they know it’s just part of the game.
Double ⬆️ for the reference and name.

I think if he was in bounds you wouldn’t have Caron Butler big dawging him in the tunnel
He’s a two-way get ready for some team to over pay him on a 3 year contract after 6 good months
lmao mte never heard of this guy until now.
Klay deserves better than this man
you’re right. trade him and AD to Miami.
That would be so epic! He would love Miami
Feel like he’d have a revival in this motion offense
💯 agree
I wouldn’t hate it. It would be nice to balance out the East and West just a little bit
Yeah OKC needs a little competition lol
Bam and AD would be the best defensive front court of all time
Duncan and Robinson played together
yes, my statement still stands
AD is too broken down at this point to claim that
The Raptors 2019 front court of Kawhi Siakam Gasol was better
Great point
Yeah it’s crazy the amount of disrespect klay is getting from this benchwarmer and Ja. A lot of them are honestly probably hate cuz he’s dating Megan. Lotta cats hate her for some reason.
Maybe he shouldn’t run his mouth all game if he doesn’t want people to talk to him. He’s always been a sore loser, but you’ll never see anyone acknowledge that on here.
I think he’s earned the right to run his mouth but maybe I’m too biased
I don’t think anyone cares if he talks. The problem is that he gets in his feels when people talk back. That’s weak shit. He shouldn’t expect people to just sit there and take it because he used to be good
Ok that’s fair … I can see that
Caron doing it right teaching these young bucks to respect their elders.
Especially one with 4 championships, 5 all star apperances and is considered one of the best shooters in NBA history.
Not to mention holding all time records such as 37 points in a quarter (and didn’t miss a shot) or his threes in a game record
Why is Klay being treated like a Make-A-Wish kid?
Gotta check in with the Stallion Wrangler obviously
Never a bad way to solve things and move on
I was wondering, who was talking trash to Klay at the bench
For people that don’t know Caron Butler has a pretty amazing story, had a very tough upbringing. Great to see him teaching the young bucks about respect.
Who is this bum and why is he trash talking a legend like Klay?
a bricKlayer, a butler and a gardener
We need more of this in the world. Sports or otherwise.
Who?
Kiss the rings
Anyone who’s played competitive ball understands this. It’s competitive, things definitely get intense, but at the core of it you’re always supposed to have respect for your opponents. Without that you’re just a punk, not a competitor
Garner made it right. Mature enough to acknowledge a mistake.
We all get caught up in the moment.
Caron Butler showed leadership and moral character helping out.
Wish the 8th graders in Washington could show the same.
Case closed.
What’s with all these bums lately and jawing at a 4x champ HOF? Klay isn’t the player he used to be but he doesn’t deserve this disrespect.
This kinda behavior from the younger generation is exactly why we’re losing recipes lmfao. 0 respect from you lot
Hows middle school going for you?
lol from jordan to kobe asking for advice from anyone he admired. you take people who have done great things and sustained a high level of professionalism than you ask for how, insight, advice on the mentality and the process….reddit got a bunch of medicore hs players that think they willed it the way through
this isn’t elementary school this is a guy who was undrafted and a coach saying this dude with 4 rings was anall time two way player at the guys position is someone you should ask for advice and it can unlock your career
Sounds like you’re in elementary school. Tf does any of that shit mean?
this is kinda lame as fuck to be honest
why are you making your guy kiss his opponents ass
because Caron butler is a veteran nba player who knows that Klay thompson is who myron shoudl be learning from. He should be asking a veteran two way player that has four rings, one of the best shooters, took pride and was an elite perimeter defender and was not heralded as such coming in for tips and respect on that journey. thats a good coach whose showing an undrafted player some light on how he can have a great career. but of course neckbeards on their couch on reddit can’t get that
hes a coach not his fuckin dad lol
yea tell me you have never done anything at a high level without telling me…
you think kobe asking jordan for advice or after he retired john williams, etc. he was known to call up even writers and ask about their experience when he wrote dear basketball
takte people who have sustained greatness for a high level consistently, ask about their approach, mindset, commitment, reflection, process and then apply that.
all the greats do it or anyone aspiring to do that learns. your approach screams mediocre and limited in life, you may get rewarded in reddit but taking an undrafted player who statistically is very, very, very unlikely to have a big impact but has this little hint of living out of his dream right now and being in the the top 300-400 of the players and the world and a veteran coach who has actually played and says hey, instad of just talking shit, this guy won rings, played with and against the best, is going to be a hall of famer who is your size and contributed in a variety of ways. you probably can learn a lot by connecting with him. Thats called good coaching, bc butler is humble enough to know klay had a better career and can help this kid who is also a 6’6 wing
stay real reddit
Yep, you’re cooked
And it’s obvious you’ve never had either
Yeah. Weird glazing, weak shit.
Seriously, fucking pathetic behaviour. If I had any role in Heat ownership that coach would be GONE yesterday.
Yet you don’t, you’re just an Internet e-thug trying to act hard.
lol
[removed]
Redditors are really total fucking ags with an added F
Trying to be edgy and not spell the word out only makes you even more of a fake e-thug.
Ag
lol, now we find those people who are target audiences for those learn to be alpha camps. They spend time online, have theories, judge and think of it a lot and have no idea.
Kobe called up Jordan to ask for advice. When he retired he would call up John williams, newspaper writers to ask for advice.
Go see the hall of fame speeches if that isn’t a good barometer, they talk about learning from the people who came before them, asking for advice.
thats kind of how you get better and maximize your abilities to learn the approach, mentality, perspective of those who did it and build on that.
So Caron butler is a coach whose taking a kid who is undrafted to a veteran who has won 4 rings, will be in the hall of fame, the same size as him and is a 2 way player who did it a high level and saying you want to maximize your rare chance to make it in the nba, don’t just talk shit build a relationship and learn.
but don’t worry, you’re a winner on reddit and online metrics. Keep killin the game, thats how youll get to heat ownership and culture…lol
Nice novel you’ve written there, leave me out of your gay fanfics next time tho. Go listen to hall of fame speechs has to be some sort of meme, no human alive is this fuckin corny
Thank you for proving my point, go back to being a Knicks/TWolves/Mavs fan.
Really put the nail in the coffin with that one. You got me, I like those teams yes!
Pretty sure your comment that got removed was the nail in the coffin.
If I had any role in your upbringing you wouldn’t be such a dense motherfucker
