This Grizzlies team is night and day different since Edey was cleared to play. He’s still on a minutes restriction and it hasn’t led to all wins but he clearly changes everything on the court. This offensive system was built with him and Ja in mind and we haven’t even seen them play more than 7 minutes together. Part of the reason Jenkins got fired is because he wasn’t using Edey and went away from Pick and Rolls.

Which is wild considering Jock has been arguably our most consistent player the last few games.

Too much group think on what must be a modern NBA center and ignoring that older style centers still can fit into the NBA, just not at the same value as they used to have. A lot of slower centers manage to stick around in the NBA.

If you’re taking this year small sample size just pure impact yeah best player. Somehow is more athletic this year defensively it’s basically turning teams to jumpers only and offensively if he manages to get it it’s like 75% going in lmao. Or a miss he grabs those too

If we were to blow it up and rebuild around someone with all our picks coming up….id choose Edey over Ja or Jaren

If Edey is an all star in the next couple seasons, the 2028 Canadian Olympic team is gonna be scary.

Also the only reason a lot of post-play isn’t used as much is because it isn’t “as efficient”.

People still overlook that outlier players CAN make it fairly efficient. Its also a “tough” kind of point that is usually there.

If the Grizzlies can put together a better team, I’d be curious how he does in the playoffs in an even matchup where easy and efficient shots are harder to come by. Where a mid-range game can sometimes be the difference between a moribund offense and keeping a team in the game.
