A Suns fan heckled Ime Udoka after the game: “Lebron still owns you! What happened in Boston? What happened in Boston?”
lol that he actually stopped for the LeBron comment. Why would that rattle him?
Beef
Didn’t he call LeBron a pussy?
It was bitch
Probably both
Edit: looks like u/romeheartz is having a mental breakdown. oops
And when Bron took issue with that word, Ime called him a soft little boy
Lebron actually loves his wife. Ime hates that
The LeMarriage
LeNuptials
High LeFidelity
LeUpload his LeVows
It’s either that or his wife is more accepting than Nia long was
LeRangement 🤝
LeEntanglement
She has to be, LeBron has been exposed several times pursuing other women.
can’t believe this my wife
They were actually never married. Long engagement though
NiaLongEngagement
For all the crazy things fans yell this pretty tame comment getting to him is a little weird
Don’t think he was actually that annoyed. I think he thought it would make a nice pretext to absolutely unload on a fan. Like he was going to relish the opportunity to escalate a little and make them back down.
But then when they came back with the Boston stuff, he realized he wasn’t going to be able to out-escalate, so instead he had to stfu and back down himself. Got pwn’d. He’s gonna have to wear that scarlet letter for awhile, maybe forever.
Bro thought he was about to have some normal trash talk only to be instantly reminded he never gets to have normal trash talk again
lmfao
This or KG’s Honey Nut Cheerios (or whatever he told Melo)?
He told Melo SMD, that’s not as fun or exciting as “Lala tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios” though.
Have you ever thought about becoming an english teacher?
I have the belief that anyone who is paid millions of dollars per year to perform something frivolous in front of an audience, must be above caring about anything said by that audience.
That guy paid money to come observe you at work. There is nothing they can say that should bother you.
(Exception of wild racism or threats to family)
What, in your time on this earth and in this society, could have possibly given you the idea that celebrities don’t care about what people think?
should
that’s the operative word, innit
but in the end we’re all just humans. and right as they’re walking out the arena? i’m sure players and staff get heated at shit like that sometimes
It didn’t go over very well when that lady called LeBron a “Pussy ass bitch”. Paying to watch professional athletes doesn’t mean you should be able to disrespect them as much as you’d like, the fuck. Obviously heckling isn’t a big deal but the line certainly can be crossed WAY before “wild racism or threats to family” (also what is “Wild Racism”? is mild racism okay?)
I think he assumed that fan would back down as soon as he confronted… not so
Udoka is like a teenager inside I swear. He gets mad at everything and takes it WAY to personally.
I think he has rage issues
Bc dude is an ass
He remembered when Ray Allen hit that corner 3 against the Spurs (he was assistant coach) and Timmy missed that shot smh
He wants the clout.
He probably thought he would get dude to shut up, and then saw the camera lmao.
What did happen in Boston 🧐
He banged a staffer who was friends with Ainge’s daughter.
That’s it? They made it seem liked he murdered someone or did something truly horrific.
He was also married and in a position of power within the org.
HR and PR nightmare.
She was also the Team’s traveling planner/coordinator who planned out Nia Long’s travel itinerary… so now you’re also using club resources to coordinate your infidelity within the organization.
Typically a fireable offense in most workplaces.
Funniest part is Nia Long hates on the Celtics publicly for “bringing this into the public eye” yeah cuz firing Udoka a year removed from the finals wouldn’t have raised any eyebrows
It was leaked to Woj…who shared an agent with Udoka. They leaked it first to try and get ahead of it, iirc the Celtics were already conducting an internal investigation and didn’t want to bring it to light yet. She’s mad at the wrong people.
Maybe she just didn’t want her relationship issues put on blast publicly, especially to shithead nba fans that would harass her on social media
The celtics org was the most tight lipped about the whole thing. It was everyone else discussing specifics.
Cs never said a word, to this day.
I can understand that on a human level. Getting cheated on and it being a public thing would be awful.
However, you are a celebrity and your partner works a high profile job. There’s no way this would’ve gone down quietly
Imagine cheating on Nia Long. Ime is a lost cause.
[deleted]
Well, because Udoka was a superior in a workplace setting. Technically, HR wise, the woman be had an affair with is a victim. Udoka had enough pull to ruin her career
Celtics didn’t expose shit lol
Nia would have also been protected if she worked for the Celtics and her boss allegedly fucked her and then allegedly harassed her at work - the part people leave out - to the point where they actually had to fire him.
Yeah this is the part that got him fired. He did a lot of bad/questionable things but in terms of why he was let go this is why lol
Don’t forget Udoka was her superior in this regard. She could have been doing this essentially with her job on the line
Fun fact: Rich Rod was having the school fly his mistress to road games when he was the football coach at Arizona
Clearly they should have just continued since they became garbage for a while after him.
It’s obvious she was the tactical mastermind
the ‘ol Costanza
Was that wrong? Should he have not done it?
I had to read this several times to understand this, lol crazy
lol fr…i knew the broad details but i had no idea the specifics were him being able to delegate his side piece planning his missus outta the picture
He also harassed her for a while, even after being told to stop, and that’s if we’re only looking at the most favourable reporting.
The team made a point to stress it wasn’t fully consensual.
Woj made a real mess getting ahead of the story and trying to suggest it was, which was a massive conflict of interest given their shared agency (CAA).
Those early lies stuck in a lot of minds and even to this day a lot of people still think it was just Ime cheating in a consensual affair.
Genuinely could have been career ending malpractice for Woj if people had picked up on it.
Honestly consensual or no, the organization did the right thing. It would be 100 shades of bullshit to have your coach getting away with something you would be instantly fired for. The Celtics had a policy… he broke it, the Celtics followed through on that policy. Go Celtics.
Yeah they handled it as well as they could have. We were coming off a finals appearance and there was a lot of pressure to just turn the other way. Other teams have actively (eg. Dallas) covered up cases like this under much less pressure.
Plus, the team actually the team actually lead the charge, which is so rare in today’s climate. Normally, companies will only act on situations like this if they get caught and there’s public pressure.
In this instance, they found out what happened, did an internal investigation, and then took action.
Damn. I’ll admit I hadn’t stayed up to date on what actually happened. I’m surprised (but also sadly not surprised) he was even allowed to be involved in the league after that.
The only redline is sports betting.
Only if the FBI gets involved. Otherwise it’s fine
He also harassed her for a while, even after being told to stop, and that’s if we’re only looking at the most favourable reporting. The team made a point to stress it wasn’t fully consensual.
This needs to be higher.
Boston did the right thing getting rid of the guy. The wild thing is another org decided to touch him after a case of power dynamics + harassment.
Are the NBA coach options really that shallow Ime got picked up after this?
There’s a great quote from the NFL:
If Hannibal Lecter ran a 4.3, we’d probably diagnose it as an eating disorder.
The reality is, Ime’s a great coach and being good at sports is a great cover for all sorts of issues.
Married to Nia Long smh all time fumble
They weren’t married
the were engaged, together for 12 years, and have a 10 year old son together. imo the betrayal was the same or worse than a “typical” marriage.
It’s still a fumble big dog
This is what that comment should have written. The person being Ainges daughters friend has literally nothing to do with the story.
Bro really said “that’s it?” 😂😂. I always forget there are kids on reddit
Lol, that’s an automatic you-gotta-go-no-hard-feelings
Not coming back from that one
He also introduced a tax on tea without representation
Benjamin Franklin said “what happened in Boston?” Lmao
1790 King George III gets envoy,
it’s a letter from the US, from the recently deceased Benjamin Franklin,
King George opens it:
What happened in Boston? What happened in Boston huh? What happened in Boston? What happened in Boston? What happened in Boston huh? What happened in Boston? bitch
Lmao
They called it a massacre, but it was like 11 people.
Nah it was a gigantic HR violation everywhere. You can’t be someone’s boss and be cheating on your spouse with them. That is bad culture setting.
McDonald’s fired their CEO a couple years back for sleeping with a subordinate. Udoka sure as shit wasn’t going to get away with that.
Well he was married to Nia Long of all people. Oh and it was the only female staffer in the Celtics FO if I remember correctly
Wtf do you mean “that’s it?” Are u guys 12 years old and never worked a day in your life? Please stay in school
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11283811/Ime-Udokas-mistress-REVEALED-34-year-old-married-team-service-manager-ties-Danny-Ainge.html
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11751823/Celtics-staffer-accused-having-affair-Ime-Udoka-seen-wearing-wedding-ring.html
It was reported that the affair was over by 2021 and Ainge learned about it then. If you believe gossip from tabloid celebrity sites, it only became a story when the husband found out and raised hell with Ainge. There’s a report from ET that he found out through doorbell cam of her taking a call from Udoka.
They left out the part that the woman Udoka was banging was the wife of somebody who worked in Boston front office. Udoka wasn’t married to Nia Long but they have a child together.
lol so, in the US if companies knowingly retain and don’t fire employees who violate state law and/or company or in this case team policy, they open themselves up to various lawsuits, such as harassment, unsafe work environment, negligence, etc
he salted my fields
he fucked your wife too?
Nah it was pretty damn scummy. Udoka is a total douche
Remember the Coldplay concert “couple”? Same shit.
Dumbass cheated on Nia Long… how could you trust his judgment after that?
Cheated on Nia Long. He should be locked up.
Idek if Celtics fans know of this. I certainly didn’t lol
It’s all been out there but no major source wants to touch it
Tea party ?
Boston Strangler ?
Boston Marathon ?
Ah, THE WORLD TOUR !
More like Boston Dangler!
He got horny
He’s not the same man he was 5 minutes ago
🤔Something is REAL 🐠 🐟 🎣 🐟🐠 going on
He fumbled both the girl and the championship.
I still can’t get over that shit… bro
Coach Gooner
People forget man, Ime Udoka cheated on Nia Long
Y’all we good under him too. Who knows if you reach Mazzulla levels of good but to be that good and all but married to Nia Long and let it all go is just…what a choice.
He didn’t let it go, that was an unforced turnover. Our team was good but they used to have a lot of unforced turnovers under Ime.
Tatum in fact set the playoff record that year.
more like a flagrant foul
You should see Celtics twitter. There’s still a significant contingent of fans who are convinced they’d have 3 peated by now with Udoka. He did a great job that year but I’m happy with how things worked out. Dude is dick and his whole coaching staff is too. They tanked that season they were stuck under Mazzulla and then they all left to join Udoka in Houston. Then Boston brought in a bunch of good dudes and won a title
Maybe they meant 3P with Ime considering his cheating history.
They tanked in 2023 when y’all made the ECF and went to 7 against the Heat?
Or was that a regular season issue for the team that year? I don’t watch enough Celtics to know
Yeah, I mean…maybe? But I’m just a little more convinced it’s a gauntlet these days and there are too many good teams for anyone to be confident in a repeat, let alone 3peat lol
I forget where but I know a credible source stated Mazzulla was the architect of our defense for the Udoka teams including the fantastic finals team. Would make sense as to why Brad promoted him to HC after Udoka left too
Joe was the only assistant left from Brads tenure too and it was because the players(the Jays lol) wanted him to stay
The credible source was the players. I’m pretty sure Tatum or brown gave Joe his flowers in a post game during that finals run. Ime is an amazing head coach and definitely did a lot that Mazzula just didn’t have the experience for his first year. The off season between his first and second year, he grew a ton.
He was great for the culture of the club. We were a better team under Joe but Ime was able to unlock this real bully mentality on the defensive end.
Under Joe we played really elite team defence, but under Ime we used to break teams mentally. Star players would have breakdowns on the court and we’d just keep going at them.
That being said, I remember reading that a lot of the defensive ideas were actually from Joe. Similar to a Casey/Nurse situation in Toronto, where Casey won COTY but it was off the back of Nurse’s ideas as an assistant coach.
Still can’t deny the cultural element though.
I remember Donovan Mitchell saying mid game to 1 of his coaches “we can’t figure out what they’re doing defensively”
Honestly even tho y’all lost to the Warriors & have like 18 titles to your franchise name, I still think that 2022 season was an all timer.
Going from the 11th seed mid January to the 2 seed by the start of the playoffs & making it all the way to the finals was absolutely fucking insane to witness.
And to beat every team in the playoffs who beat us recently, in the same round. Felt way more monumental than the year the Cs won a ring due to facing so many injured teams.
Joe 1⁄1 in the NBA Finals
Ime 0/1 in the NBA Finals
I never forget what an idiot
think the video kinda shows people havent forgotten
NIA LONG?!?!?!
J. Cole was the most disappointed of anyone
Bruh I can’t believe he stopped lol
I’m sure he gets that shit all the time
You see how red he was. Yea…
He was already worked up by Dillion Brooks, fuse was lit lol
Ay Dillon mayne
I wonder what could get a similar response from our current coach.
“Hey Joe! Want to play Basketball for fun?”
“Remember Joe, it’s just a game!”
Malice in the Palace pt 2
“Good will hunting is better than the town”
“Hey Joe! The Town sucks!”
“Remember what happened in West Virginia?”
That brother has a domestic battery arrest.
Why is Bron rent free? I can only remember one interaction and he was already in rockets back then.
What happened in Boston?
He just pivoted to “what happened in boston” as the next thing to ragebait him lol
Which is fair IMO, Ime shouldn’t be able to just pretend this never happened for the rest of his life
what never happened?
this, obviously
Ime’s brain flashed a montage of depravity on that question.
That’s how you get ‘em Deer in the headlights, be real general.
Stop It bro you’re killing me lol 😂
i think everyone here is missing a key piece of trivia: after ime cheated on nia long, ime and lebron argued (on court). lebron then invited nia long and rapper cam’ron to an event so they would interact with each other
This is actually pretty fun and light heckling haha
Udoka was an assistant coach for that 2014 spurs team that prevented the heat from threepeating. Interesting
Dude looked like a stunned mullet
He needs to walk away lol
I love it
Crazy to see him let his other head control a reaction for once
Lmao he really acknowledged that? Soft
probably stopped because the Lebron comment is confusing as hell
Great way to set an example for your players about tuning out the noise
Here’s a true story I have about Ime Udoka : Once at a college basketball game back in 2007 I walked up to Ime and I said “what’s up?” And then he said back to me “what’s up”…actual true story🔥
Huge if true.
It is crazy to me to be at this level and still let a little shit talk from a nobody get in your head
😭😭 it’s hilarious
Why do ppl treat athletes/coaches like animals
this is regular sports banter man
They want the clout.
These are the grown up version of kids that can’t get their parent’s attention with pertinent subjects when they are legit busy so they start saying anything to get their attention.
Also they are of the “ I can always apologize 100time” and they can no longer punch me in the face types.
This guy is a special kind of weakness because he completely changed what he said.
Wipe that chowder from your face!!!!!
Wild that he actually took the bait.
Try calling him Angel Reese next time.
Naw 💀 Thats actually wild
The second he reacted and stopped he regretted doing it
Man whoever recorded this shit it such a loser. Anything for some internet attention though
I completely disagree, at least about the Boston comments. The dude cheated on his partner with a subordinate, that deserves being called out.
Ime is the second most terrifying man in the NBA. The first is the man that replaced him in Boston.
Soft move from Udoka for even acknowledging such a tame heckle. Should’ve kept his feet moving.
LMFAOOOOOO
Seriously. What happened?
He got fired from being the Celtics head coach after he was found to be in a relationship with one of the staffers…he was married at that time
What happened in Phoenix?
I mean LeBron didn’t stop him
Not being able to keep it in his pants did
LeBron still owns you
Dude sounded like a malfunctioning bot “what happened in Boston what happened in Boston” 😂
“What happened in Boston” shut him up real quick lol
I love it fck Ime Udookiea
Didn’t Lebron and his squad bring out Nia Long to a party so she could hook up with some dude or something? This beef is funny
after they loss? interesting lol
Fans are so weird
Pay your money and enjoy the damn game. Leave these people alone.
Hecklers are some of the biggest losers
That fan is a loser
What did happen in Boston tho?? Did we ever find out?
W fan
Lame
Famous people should not ever interact with people with their phones out. Too many weirdos looking for a clip these days. It’s not worth it. Nobody can tell me this is normal behavior for an adult male.
That “fan” is a douche bag.
So tell us then
Bro better quit playing being Ime start screwing his wife
immature, sit down kid
Here comes the red card.
We still never figure out what happened in Boston.
He clapped a subordinate
Udoka killed a hooker in the practice lounge with the candlestick.
Should’ve backed it up with a “homewrecker”…lol
Going from “LeBron owns you” to “what happened in Boston” is wild. Pick one insult my guy lol
That’s a fair and sportsmanlike heckle.
This shit is lame
Good. Berate this loser
