In the 50’s if your hand even grazed the side of the ball it was called a carry. Now players be putting there hand under the ball and carry isn’t called. Travel is different. Every rule was a reason why the game was played back in the past. Along with coaching, coaches had a lot of power.amd it wasn’t common for a coach to get an all star player shipped out just because he didn’t like him. So how you played was based on what the coach allowed. It wasn’t until Steve Kerr let Curry shoot his threes did it really change from a coaches league to a players league.
