Cam Johnson’s early season struggles have been well noted but he had a solid game that one would expect from (ideally) your contender’s third option. Unfotunately, it was not enough to stop a vintage OKC Thunder throwback performance from Russell Westbrook (Who ironically was a starter-worst +/- of -13 in a 5 point win).

Not bringing Russ back for the MINIMUM when a guy like Hunter Tyson is taking up a roster spot was mistake imo

Yes Russ was bad in the OKC series but he was playing with a broken hand and they might not even get to that series if it weren’t for his heroics vs the Clippers

Jamal is basically only the reliable ball handling guard on that team and at this rate he’s going to be run into the ground

The reporting around Denver when he declined the option was they wanted him at near the end of the bench like 10 minutes a game kind of role and having Russ in that role is almost guaranteed locker room problems at some point.

I dont know about locker room problems, but I do know its a situation that Westbrook would never agree to, which is fair considering his level of play this season, and also fair from the nuggets perspective. Just one of those situations where both people are in the right and no real villain.

He was quoted as saying they told him not to come back which IMO is just Russ spin on what the situation was. He was already causing some problems near the end of the regular season last year so I don’t think they were exactly super eager to have him back either way.

Thank God we traded westbrick, bro had me panicking every time he picked up the ball, especially in clutch situations. He is just inconsistent af w/ low BBALL IQ. Same with MPJ, never makes the right pass and shitty defense. This line up is way better.
