People who say this don’t have any idea how sports betting works. If a sports book will lose money on a certain result, they aren’t doing it right. Books manipulate odds to keep betting equal for both sides, and because both sides are slightly under even odds, they profit regardless on that gap.

Yeah people say a lot of stuff when they’re just looking at the result and not watching the games. Those of us who were watching the starting lineup build double digit leads only to have Monty sub all the starters at once and let an all bench lineup turn the lead into a double digit deficit knew those guys were talented. Most of those guys (Cade especially) always had the respect of the peers too. Guys like KD were always heaping praise on them even while they were losing. That says a lot more than what some people on this sub were talking about.

Sarr isn’t better than Cade and likely never will be, but he’s absolutely, at the very least, on a similar level/growth trajectory as Duren and Ivey, and I think most would take Y2 Sarr over Y2 Ausar or Stewart.

Stew averaged 8/9/1 his second year in the league - Sarr is currently at 18/8/4 on similar MPG.

Kyshaun George has the potential and the build to be somebody. Tre J was called the best shooter in his draft and is 19 years old. Bilal has seemingly regressed but he’s had injury issues and is playing behind Middleton who we want to trade/let expire if we can’t trade him (so we’re trying to pump his value). Bub probably will never have a starter ceiling but he’s not talentless, although this year has been super rough from him. Cam Whitmore is, MAYBE, finally learning how to play basketball that isn’t me me me every second he’s on the court (and if he ever figures that shit out, all of the hype on his talent and physical gifts could pay off).

Would I rather have Cade and Duren? Sure, but those dudes were catching a ton of flack their first few years too. Without being repetitive to what Philly did, this is a process, and you’re being results oriented rather than process oriented based on year 5 of your team’s process while the Wiz are in year 1.5 of their own.

In 2021, when the Pistons got their franchise guy with the #1 pick in Cade, the Wizards were still trying to be a mediocre play-in team that won 35-40 games. They got the 15th pick that year.

I cannot fathom watching the NBA with any regularity and thinking the Pistons and the Wizards are on the same timeline and started their tank and rebuild at the same time.
