[Highlight] Chris Paul checks into a game for the first time following his retirement announcement to play his final game in his home state of North Carolina. Hornets announcer yells “Get in there!” as Paul takes his first shot and welcomes him home
Love Eric, always giving props to those who deserve them.
Eric is the man he’s obviously the biggest Hornet fan but shows the same energy to the other team.
Eric is the announcer, right?
If so he’s the best, puts all of his heart into the game and agree he must be Hornets’ biggest fan :)
Yeah, he’s the play by play. Color is Dell Curry.
I naturally have a bias for Followill, but Eric Collins is so damn cool.
Especially when it’s James Harden getting a Quadruple Double
Idk what you guys are smoking but he definitely does not show same energy to opponents, he is crickets if anything amazing happens that wasn’t done by the Hornets
“first one’s free” i love it lol.
I respect announcers who gives props to opponents and willing to shit talk their own team if they are playing like shit.
I think most of the younger announcers today are like that.
Jason Benetti, Matt Underwood are two that come to mind.
Hes singlehandedly made me a hornets fan
Yes, like for example Miles Bridges
He also was disappointed at him before
Ask him out.
I think if Paul had officially announced his retirement earlier, the Hornets might have even prepared something more for him. As is, I thought this was pretty nice, don’t think I’ve ever heard a local announcer root for an opposing player to make a shot before.
Last year when Patrick Kane returned to the United Center to play the Hawks, he had a breakaway OT goal to win the game and the whole place was shaking as if the Hawks one. One of the most insane sports moments I have ever seen. Well deserved too.
Final game in his home state? Won’t you feel foolish when we get to the Clippers v Hornets NBA finals this season.
I love the Hornets announcers
Hot diddly dee!
They deserve a good team.
They’re cooking tbh but young
Am I going crazy? Didnt he already say this was his last season?
Apparently it wasn’t completely official, he kinda was like he had a strong idea that this was gonna be the last season
He never explicitly said the words, “I am retiring,” but during free agency he said he was playing at most one more season. Everyone knew this would be his final season based on that statement, but he finally made an official statement just now.
I thought the same thing too
No.
damn that is wholesome. we all want that respect at the end of the day
Time to give chris Paul his roses. No matter what yall think about him he deserves his roses.
does it have to be roses? I was thinking an arrangement of tulips and lilies would be nice
I don’t care he deserves some love though. Through the bad and good he’s made a mark in the NBA that has been over shadowed.
He’s still has the prestige and honor of being nbacirclejerk’s logo.
SO, it’s official? (sadface)
No ring for our guy but he’s still the PointGod
Got like 5 straight assists. Point god still got it
My god he’s slow as fuck now.
A little confused - is this hornets franchise even the one Paul played for?
no, he’s just from north carolina
I didn’t know he was from NC, sucks he got drafted after they moved.
Hornets legend
They still do CP3 Day at Wake? Man’s so beloved.
They need to bring back Blake griffin and Jamal Crawford🥹 for the rest of the season bring back the OG clippers
I’ve been following Cliff Paul’s career more closely than Chris’s these past couple years but glad this guy is getting love for a hell of a run in the league
Love announcers that give both teams praise. I know this is slightly different for CP3.
Not many left in the game. Lakers and Hornets two of the announcing teams that do on the regular
Hot diddly dee
great to see one of the dirtiest players in nba history never win a ring.
Did he score
Guessing you can’t or couldn’t watch the video, got a 3 and proceeded to assist on another immediately after.
That’s good he deserved tht

The title was actually suggested by the one who requested the clip, I merely obliged.
I just trying to figure out why Chris needed to announce this like everyone didn’t know already
Chris Paul never played for the Hornets.
I mean he played for a Hornets, and he’s from North Carolina.
He’s from North Carolina and played there in college. Which is what Eric talked about when he was celebrating him
He never played in charlotte. Def was a hornet
Well sure, but It’s a state pride thing of a homegrown great player who played 20+ seasons. He also played his college ball there at Wake Forest and made their program bigger and more popular for recruits. Was a top player out of NC, and people remember.
