I know people want them to just tank and move AD and Kyrie - but can anyone honestly see a trade being on the table that makes sense for them? At this stage it would either be a salary dump, or some kind of equally risky/bad contracts. That’s not helping them either in the short or the long term.

I think the smartest move is gonna be to keep those 2 and just try to recoup their trade value a bit, or at absolute worst, just keep them on a roster you slowly build around Flagg (not a bad outcome, really).

Gafford is the one they should be openly shopping, and I would also quietly let teams know that PJ will also be available if someone overpays. Those are guys that actually have current trade value, would make sense on plenty of teams, and have contracts that would be easy to move if the right offer comes knocking.

They will trade him by February just trying to maximize his value.
