I might be biased (I’m definitely biased) but he also didn’t help the contract thing. Like I get the “it’s not his fault he was given that contract, he just signed it” thing, but when it was clear that the Suns wanted to move on from him last season his refusal to waive the no trade clause killed not only whatever (very small) chances that team had to be semi-functioning, but also his image a bit. He became a willingly toxic figure and that only brought more ridicule to him and to the team when both unsurprisingly underperformed.
