Jokic not getting an mvp would be good for the nuggets imo. Means he doesnt have to carry the entire offensive load like last year since their bench was dookie. Lets him rest and conserve energy for the playoffs.

He is definitely not getting it imo. He is not a big “I gotta get my 30 guy”, if you tell him to average like 12/11/10 and just shoot 5 shots, I think he’d be like thank fuck I don’t need to have like a 45 point triple double to win now.

He averaged a triple double while having one of the best offensive seasons in history and  he didn’t win. 

he will likely average less points than last year with how much better the bench look, especially with Valanciunas playing many mintues in Jokic’s place.

I think this year, if all healthy, it will be the first real 3 or 4 men battle for MVP in history. Jokic will have the W on his side, i think Nuggets can comfortably get to ~55W, while OKC may not get another 65+W season, so reducing by much the gap (if let’s say OKC “just” win 60 games).

But the media is all-in for Wemby now, and also the Spurs can go for 50W, Wemby is fresh, popular, will get the DPOY for sure…

Giannis may be the 4th, but this is when I call myself out. He is been constantly top 3 player in the league the past 6 or 7 seasons. Like magic won a chip in his rookie season. 3 mvp, 3 finals mvp, 9 time first team all nba, 4 times assist leader, 5 times champion most triple doubles in playoffs and all that in just 12 years of career and having to end his career in his late prime. Getting 42/15/7 with 7 steals as a rookie in a close out nba finals game 6 WITHOUT KAREEM might I add. Jokic is great but his accolades pale im comparison and magic’s defense which wasn’t great is still better than jokic’s. And magic isn’t buddy buddy with serbian dictators who is killing his own people to help out his horse interests. So magic better in my books
