We played completely sloppy in almost every aspect tonight, had no business winning that with some of our mistakes late, but we did have the most talented player on the court tonight and that was enough tonight

Good lord, the season really is back

So it begins

Playoff intensity in game one

Your defense is insanely good. Everyone is bought in. Portland is going to be tough to play all year.

If only the refs didn’t want to be a main character that would have been an incredible game one, some crazy shots on both sides!

Edge of my seat the entire time, tough shots and great energy on both sides

I think we’ll be good not great. Which means we’ll probably end up like the 12 seed in the west but would be a lock in the east. Our defense is really good and guys won’t be as cold as they were tonight, plus whatever you think about Scoot he’ll be a significant upgrade over Wesley, especially if we intend to play balls to the wall all year.

On the contrary we looked like the better team for 45 mins vs the wolves even on an off shooting night.

Oh my god if playoff seeding depended on this game I think I would have died.

At least you won’t have them by the end of the year cause this team could easily pull a Spurs and fuck up a playoff/championship contenders hopes and dreams as we’ve seen the past two years with Wemby and Harrison Barnes.

Blazers are going to be a tough out all year. Their perimeter defense is awesome.

They picked us up full court damn near the whole game

They play like Thunder-lite. Just missing that somewhat helpful part where OKC has Shai as a crunch time offense unto himself.

We missed a ton of wide open 3s. Deni and Sharpe both having bad shooting nights is gonna be a loss every time but we looked like the better team on both ends for the majority of the night. Ant also went crazy in the 4th and couldn’t miss down the stretch. Have high hopes that we win way more games than projected.

Blazers need a star scorer and they will be very good. Great defense and depth

Blazers have a very deep rotation at every position going forward. Some upside from their young center rotation and Dame, coming, and Jrue, staying, healthy puts them in contention for the 6-10th seed even in the west.

None of the top level star talent associated with contenders but the strength in numbers of a Dame, Jrue, Sharp, Scoot guard rotation and a Deni, Camara, Grant, Thybulle, Murray wing rotation and a Clingan, Williams, Hansen, Reath big rotation appeals to me in an 82 game season. Every single one of these guys has shown some flashes or in moments played a role in a scheme, hope Billups can maximize it’s potential.

Feel like the Blazers should feel pretty good about how tough they hung despite neither Avdija nor Sharpe being particularly good offensively tonight. I know bench beast Jerami Grant ain’t gonna be that good every night but I feel the Blazers have a lot of room before their ceiling. Encouraging start to the season IMO.

I think the Blazers are following a Rockets-like blueprint, defense and toughness come first but they need more shooting and playmaking next

I feel like this is gonna be a common complaint for the team’s blazers play against this year.

If you watched our preseason that wouldn’t be super surprising. Dilly was getting cooked on defense in a way Bones wasn’t, and that’s Finch’s number one priority for anyone to get playing time.

Bones was a little messy but by being somewhat of an actual pg he looked refreshing out there lmao

Unfortunately the blazers are pretty great at everything except half court offense. Where we might be bottom 3-5 in the league. Games like this are going to be real tough if the team can’t generate points of turnovers.

Yeah Holiday fast break 3 when we were up 1 and then Ant stepping on Jeramis foot and knocking him off balance for the 3 right after was the nail in the coffin. Crazy that we shot horribly and still looked like a strong team vs you guys though.

Bro it’s death in there!! I saw every player was shit and season is over and Finch is worthless. I can’t imagine why people watch if it is that miserable. I literally enjoyed the whole game and even would have been okay with a loss because Portland battled it out. Glad they won but they need to clean up a bit of sloppiness but that also has always been their issue.

Basketball is usually a game of scoring runs but it didn’t feel like either team really had one

Yeah Deni and Sharpe couldn’t hit anything outside 16 feet but we looked great overall. Ant literally just needed to miss 1 of the like 6 straight shots he made in the last 4 mins.

Sometimes the chaos that comes with TSJ is needed (like today) and sometimes it will drives fans crazy.
