MLB postseason seeing increased audiences in the U.S., Canada and Japan
I wonder why.
Something fishy going on
Canadians really like Kike Hernandez
Use the accent!
The biggest MLB mystery now
they’re going to screw it up in 2 years with the Lockout, I tell you Phil
I dunno Jim
there’s no scraps in my scrapbooks;
‘get it done
They’re in no position to force a lockout, and imo that’s why they’re pushing it so hard. It’s all posturing for the upcoming negotiations.
But we’ll see.
Only Gary is stupid enough to kill all momentum a sport has with a lockout
Is Shohei giving us “the absolute cinema”? That would increase ratings, including in cinemas!
Now that i think about it the World Series in a movie theater would be peak
Salary cap enthusiasts in shambles
I’m a salary cap enthusiast (even though I know it benefits the scumbag owners). The salary cap made hockey a better sport. Maybe we could have a profit-cap for the owners? After a certain profit margin is met all additional proceedes go to some sort of collective social fund to help pay for things that make society better…. Someone should come up with a term for that.
What if all the additional proceeds just go to me instead? That would benefit society bc I am a part of society
Fine, but only if you split it with me. Double the societal benefit!!!
How did it improve the NHL?
Not a watcher but I’ve heard a problem in hockey now is that the Florida teams and other low tax states are able to attract better players that other states can’t compete with. Especially Canadien teams. Any truth there?
You’re right, it’s dogshit.
If there was no salary cap the Leafs and Rangers would win a bajillion titles, which I’d be more than happy with, but all the small market teams would bleed fans. Not sure how baseball does it, maybe cause there’s more games and it’s less expensive.
The rangers and leafs had droughts before the salary cap was implemented the leafs still have one.
The salary cap fucking ruined being a hockey fan. Now instead of players everyone is a number, and evaluated entirely based on their cap hit. I miss not giving a shit how much Alexander Mogilny was making.
Canada and Japan are “No shit, Sherlock” obvious.
This postseason has had a record number of series going the distance, good storylines, and big market teams doing well (NY excepted).
The Dodgers just played in maybe the most boring NLCS of my lifetime, but I bet the per game ratings were on par with the ALCS just because of that one guy.
NY made the WS last year so they’re doing well despite their expectations. And Mets are excited about having the richest owner willing to spend. They may be disappointed, but they are definitely following their teams
Los Angeles with Ohtani attracts casuals and a big market even with the loss of NY. Japan, same.
Toronto is obvious for Canada.
