Pretty much as stated in the title. The player run shop, or asynchronous trade, has been such a huge benefit to players, and gets me logging in after I took a break to play some other games.

Then once you realize you have a small stock pile of Divines, and looking into what upgrades you could purchase, and suddenly you are mapping again to just see how much better your character feels after buying a new weapon, etc.

It’s pretty much all upsides.

Any idea that trading needed to have “friction” and pull people out of maps as some sort of counter balance to trading just completely fell flat.

Now if GGG would implement the ability to let us price tabs as a whole instead of each item individually. XD

Very much agree on this. While min-max gear are still expensive, and inflation is high. It is also mean that if I got lucky and drop something market need, I could gear with 2nd hand gear and have easier time clearing content.

Asynchronous means it doesn’t happen at the same time.

Asynchronous trade is a term POE made up to differentiate between the old system of messaging online players and trading directly.

Technically all forms of internet shopping or vending machines could be considered Asynchronous trade. Its nonsense terminology that.

It’s basically what GGG calls the player run “shops”, where as other posters have said you can search for items on the trade website or through the new trade search in game, travel to a player’s hideout whether or not they are online or not, and purchase items from their “shop”.

But this also means you can sell items when you are offline. Like in my case, I took a break to play other games, and signed in today to some Divines and exalts for items I priced weeks ago.

I use an app called Sidekick, there is another more popular one called Exiled Exchange 2.

It allows you to hit a command (for me CNTL+D), and select individual affixes as well as ranges on the affixes.

Weapons are sort of FUBAR outside of exceptional white drops, but if you get an armor piece with double resist, high life or high defenses that align with the base defenses on an armor, I will search it or maybe throw an abyss enchant to see if I can get a 3rd resist or something like move speed for boots or a high arm/eva/es roll where appropriate. Then price check again.

If you search and nothing pops up, you can choose not to search a specific affix like say, Attribute Reduction that may not desirable, then search again. If you search and even though you know you have decent affixes, try to check the parameters. Sidekick will naturally check for rolls lower than what you search for to give you a wider range. Then you can raise those rolls you are searching for to get more specific.

Likewise, if you KNOW you have good itemization and NOTHING pops up, maybe you’ve gotten a god-rolled item with a bunch of T1 affixes, you can lower the range to see what similar items are going for. In that case, I always over estimate the value and price it for a lot of Divines, and then I will (if I am actively playing) reduce the price by a small amount every day until it sells.

You’d be surprised how often you get an item that can sell for 20 or 40 Divines, because it was good itemization, and high tier rolls, but there’s nothing like it on the trade site.

As GGG opens up more APIs for sites like POE.Ninja will have more data that can referenced by programs like Sidekick or EE2.

For POE1 we even had whole inventory scanners that would go through all of your stash tabs and calculated how much your entire inventory are worth. Those were great for finding items that you didn’t know were highly valuable like say Unique Jewels.

EDIT: I also want to add that I have my filter set up to only show Magic and Rare items that are at least tier 4 or tier 5 drops (outside of certain high value bases).

This and crafting is honestly one of the best additions GGG has ever added in a very long time.

One of the best parts of Asynchronous Trade is that I can take a few weeks off from playing, and still log into a bunch of currency from items I priced a month ago.
