As someone who sells 1 chaos uniques because I know how frustrating it is to get them, this is such a QoL. I can sell my starter uniques without having to leave my Maos all the time.
But unique stash tab is not merchant tab. That means using small space of premium tabs to sell those uniques? Of 14 premium tabs and 4 quad i only have 3 available to use as merchant. (most were converted from normal to premium)
Thats way too steep for selling 1c uniques.
Fortunately I have plenty of stash tabs and points to spare on the shop after having bought the occasional supporter pack every now and then over the past 14 years.
I was competing with bots to buy a fucking shield, every single time a new post was made it didn’t matter how fast I was it was already sold

Unfortunately since you can’t price full tabs and have to individually price every item there aren’t going to be many people actually listing cheap items in merchant tabs.
They already have a sort of workaround, it will remember the last price you set so you can still spam list.
Imo the best option would just be a setting you have to manually turn on for Ange that you can tab list

I remember it like it was yesterday, in 0.1… I really needed a specific item for a build and it was a cheap item, from 1 to 5 exalteds, I sent messages to about 30 people, I offered 50 exalteds, and no one even responded, unfortunately I lost my monitor in the process because of anger.

Yeah, there are definitely shenanigans you can do if you’re willing to play the market. Hell, even the existing currency exchange has some opportunity to flip for profit if you’re willing to put up the gold and risk getting fucked if the economy moves on you.
Ideally they’ll add some slight gold cost or something on the seller to further limit any shenanigans that can be done with price fixing or other non-committal behavior; but hopefully the cooldown/delay until you can pull an item out of the tab is enough to stop or limit such silly games.
there absolutely are ways it’ll be worse off. it’s not guaranteed though. hyperinflation is a thing. hopefully the gold tax is enough.

They can only win for underpriced items with an easy flip. For items that are fairly priced, bots really shouldn’t be automatically buying everything.
As a buyer, deals will be harder to come by but that’s the nature of the reduced friction in trading.

Premium tabs are so worthless. Why would they disable converted tabs in poe1 when premium tabs could just work differently in each game.
All premium tabs should be merchant tabs.
You need tabs to dump items that you don’t want to sell still. Backup gear, recomb materials, pre-rolled waystones, etc.
And you could dump them in the tab without putting a price on them. Kinda easy.

It does, they don’t want you to easily trade while you’re still in early campaign.
I think they can control it via gold costs. Not time gating. Some builds can really benefit from a single unique, and it can help build diversity.
You do there is a quest in act 3 you have to beat. Also it’s no more crazier than having to get to act 3 before you can use the exchange thing.
Edit: the quest is in act 4, not act 3 I’m sorry about my fat thumbs.

I’d be happy if it weren’t for the fact that I fell for the bait. I bought upgrades for 5 Tabs, and now they’re not eligible for the new system. Many people have been scammed this way. More than half the market will be left out.

You convert them via the website. If you don’t have a PC, use your phone or console to visit the website.

You need to talk to Ange, which is only possible if you have reached Act 4 at least once in the current league. They won’t show up in regular stash

Ehh leveling uniques are like 10-20 times more gold then you’ll ever have at that level is bad. Just went the old way and it worked.
Leveling is the time you introduce these new things so people default to that system, but looking at 450 listings of normal and 8 of instant buyout of the unique I’m interested in, doesn’t give me confidence the community will default to this system.
I mean, that is fine, leveling uniques are good for leveling new characters too, so you’ll have gold to get them by then.
They did say they deliberately raised the gold cost to test the waters (didn’t want to make it accessible to botters), lowering as they go

You need to reach Act 4 to list items on it, nobody is there yet
the only thing that would make it better would be to make everything able to be sold/traded only once. that would stop a lot of sniper resellers and curb inflation bigtime.

The game will be free to play when it reaches 1.0. They’ve said as much.
Buyout only, only had 4 listing for me and my mate with everything selected. Is it not linked with the website?. Between that and the crashes after Act 1 boss death I think we might be done for the season. Having the nearest checkpoint be the ramparts just killed our motivation.
Still, we look forward to a bug fix or season 3. Hopefully they get it sorted.
