Celtic’s Pride has quite the opponent this season:

• If we start to win games, it’s going to be literally against *all odds*
  • Tatum out for 1 season, and may not be great for 2 seasons
  • We own our own 1st round picks for the next 2 seasons, but not after
  • We can get out of the repeater tax if we get under the cap for the next 2 seasons
  • This rotation lost 8,900 regular season minutes between Jrue/KP/Kornet/Tatum/Al
• Every metric is off the charts that indicate reasons to ‘Dump Salary, Lose Games’ for the next 2 seasons
  • Every metric except one: Celtic’s Pride

Any objective take on this team would be to miss playoffs for 2 years, use both your 1st round picks, reset your repeater tax, heal Tatum completely. Then try again in the 2027-2028 season with no cap penalties, fully healed Tatum, and two 1st round picks on your bench.

But, when you hear the front office talk, when you hear the newly extended coach talk, and when you hear the bench players who may be new starters talk…. they all talk like they are spending their summer watching Larry Bird highlights: “We aren’t playing for 2nd”

Celtics Pride is a real god damn thing. The banners never ending presence above our heads have permanently warped our perspective to something unique. And I’m beyond interested to see our coaching staff and players clash with the realities of the Cap/Injury/Draft all season long.
