I’m told the Bucks’ Joe Prunty has emerged as a strong candidate to join Orlando’s coaching staff.

Prunty has been interim HC in Atlanta and Milwaukee and worked for five other teams after starting out in San Antonio.

UPDATE: League sources tell The Stein Line that Orlando is indeed adding Bucks assistant Joe Prunty as well as God Shammgod to Jamahl Mosley’s coaching staff … on top of on-court additions Desmond Bane and Tyus Jones and the draft selections of Jase Richardson and Noah Penda.

Really happy we’re finally adding personnel and coaches to help out the offense.

Magic fans act like personnel isn’t the number one driver of offense in the league. Coaches obviously have an effect, but it’s why the Knicks can be considered a #1-2 team in the East without a coach because they have a strong roster already.

Now if the offense still looks terrible with Bane, Tyus, etc, it’s easy to move on from Mose, but we also were literally the only team in the last like 25 years to have that historically bad 3PT% offense to make the playoffs. Having to rely on Cory Joseph and having no reliable shooters to lean on sucked.

One of Paolo/Franz will have to be at least average moving forward though to really solidify us there.

Magic offense is the way it is because most of the players need the ball on their hands before they take a shot. That’s why they got shooters and a passing pg this offseason.
