Wemby down a little bit due to health concerns but still the clear top choice.

I get Wemby is young and promising but jokic and shai at only 10% a piece just feels really wrong. Especially considering players built like Wemby have historically been very injury prone while jokic and shai have been very healthy for their usage rate and games played.

I think Wemby would go down to like 50% or so. Jokic will probably drop out of the rankings as he ages.

SGA will probably go up the ranks after his MVP season.

Ant may show up on the ranks after proving his WCF run wasn’t an anomaly.

The Luka disrespect this season has been crazy

Given you can’t teach height Wemby should be the top choice again for almost all GMs.

SGA is a great choice as this past season’s MVP and FMVP so I imagine around 10-15% of GMs might choose him.

Joker clearly is great but given his age at 30 I imagine he will be #3 this year.

Luka remains #4 and maybe if Coop really outperforms ‘maybe’ he can join this conversation around #5.

Wemby will be first, but will have little less votes. SGA will be dominant 2. Jokic will drop because of age and Luka or Ant will overtake him. I wouldn’t be surprised if Falgg got a vote.

Never forget that Luka finished 3rd in MVP voting in what should have been his MVP season, with SGA finishing ahead of him just because he had a better team. It should be 100% Wemby after what we saw last season. Wemby was legit a top 5 player in the league in his 2nd season even Bron wasn’t doing that

Blood clots is going to down Wemby’s percentage significantly. The Luka controversies and issues might make his percentage drop too. I’d assume SGA’s would increase after the postseason he had, and Jokic might get some of Wembys drop off too.

Shai is the MVP and is still in his 20s Jokic and league average teammates would a title contender Wemby is a mega talent in after only two years but the clots are a concern Luka is great but has conditioning issues.

I always view this question like I bought an expansion franchise.

My team is completely compiled of expansion draft picks or lower-tier free agents. Except for this one pick I get.

And the salary cap/financial picture is a thing, I’d assume. I’d get Wemby for the next two years for \(30m combined. Joker costs me \)105m over the same time period. Luka is going to cost even more ($46m next year then his contract extension.)

I get many folks just watched Shai for the first time this past postseason, but he is going into his 8th year and signed a $285 million extension.

Any answer but Wemby should be illegal. If building a franchise is the question.

I hope I’m wrong, but I see Wembys career being derailed by injury. Humans weren’t meant to be that tall and move that fast.

SGA is the clear cut top choice. Easier to find a serviceable big than it is to find a superstar wing willing to play in a small market. Wemby has health issues as well.

I think Wemby drops just a touch, Jokic drops and Flagg shows up in the “start a franchise” question.

Of those guys, I would take SGA.

Wembanyama is too frail. Doncic plays no defense. Jokic is too old.

Wemby goes higher. He had a stretch of 10-15 games before his mysterious illness that ended up being the DVT where he looked like a top 5 player. He looked like he had taken a massive leap from last year. The type of DVT he got is unlikely to return based on similar cases like Ingram. He still has injury concerns based on his size, but this was true last year too.

SGA is obviously a great player, but he is one of the weakest MVP cases of my lifetime. There’s 5-10 other players in the league that could have won with this OKC team in Shai’s place. He’s a superstar, but not a generational player like Jokic, LeBron, etc. I think you’re more likely to win with an ok supporting cast under Wemby despite the injury concerns versus an elite case under a healthy SGA.

Jokic is getting too old to be part of this conversation although he is on a different level than SGA and Wemby right now IMO.

Cooper maybe gets a couple of Jokic or Doncic votes, and nothing else changes.

Depends on Wemby’s health. If he’s good to go it’s him and everyone else. No one trusts Luka, I can tell you that

Having an MVP level first option on a rookie scale extension in the new CBA era is like a cheat code. You have at minimum 70% of the cap to fill the roster out with complementary pieces which most teams would kill for considering how strapped for space teams are currently
