I think Charlotte won’t be top 10. Move Toronto up to 8 since it seems like they’re actually trying and make Boston/Indiana ⁹⁄₁₀. Otherwise I think this is how it’s gonna shake out for the most part.

Edit: always forget about the Heat. Idfk where to put them lol. Probably anywhere from 12-7.

Unless Indy brings in one or CP3 or Brogdon and Al— I don’t see them making the playoffs. Legit lost two of their top 3 players.

To me, and I know I’m in the minority but with Joe as our HC and how stubborn he is and players like Brown, White, Pritchard, I don’t see how we’re a lotto team

I think our best hope of being a lotto team is if we dump Simons/Niang/Hauser and have Queta/Tillman/Williams as our big rotation.

But ultimately I think JB/White/Pritchard will be tryhard enough to at least make the play-in.

I’m not expecting all 3 of Hauser/Simons/Niang to be on the team by the start of the season. I think with all three of those guys you’re probably right and we could keep a .500ish record.

But if at least one of those salaries gets dumped then the only way we stay at .500 is if our young dudes really step up.

Yeah, I think JB could make 2nd team All NBA if he’s healthy. Backcourt play is gonna be a strength with Brown, White, PP and even Simons but the lack decent bigs is gonna be very tough to overcome. Although, I can see Brad picking up someone in the buyout market if the 1st half of the year goes better than expected.

Charlotte has a more talented roster than us. Really just need Lamelo to stay healthy, which is solidly sized ask, given his resume.

Raptors have a decent collection of talent and had a lot of injury issues last year.

Think we are definitely better than Brooklyn, Washington, and Chicago. Probably Indiana and Miami too.

Yeah I don’t see any reason why Charlotte is any better than last year. We’ll probably drop a game or two to them but I don’t think they’re getting significantly more wins than us.

Brandon Miller missed ²⁄₃ of the season, Lamelo missed a half of the season, Grant missed most of the season. Kon is one of the better rookies. Got Sexton.

I think they just have a larger collection of talent. And probably have some moves they can make. Could use another big.

I think this is overvaluing the idea of talent over having an actual functional team. Maybe everybody breaks out this year, but it’s unlikely. Odds are some guys will disappoint, some guys will fail entirely, and some guys will get hurt again.

Young teams take a lot of time, and a lot of the time it just never really comes together. When you’re coming off a 19 win season odds are you’re not making a massive jump, you just hope for progress.

I guess, but what exactly is going to make us more functional than them? For instance, we are probably going to be one of the worst defensive teams in the league. White will do his stuff, but Jaylen is going to have a much bigger offensive burden so he’ll likely take a step back defensively, and then everybody else is pretty mediocre.

We’ll see. I’m not saying they’re like leaps and bounds better or anything like that, but I’d be pretty surprised if we ended up having a better record if both teams were similarly healthy.

Cleveland, Orlando, Detroit, and maybe New York will be the top 4 seeds in the East next season. Atlanta, Milwaukee, and Philly have hope to be in 5-7th seeds but all have their own problems. Turner might not the perfect solution for Milwaukee as they want another co-star. Atlanta needs KP to stay healthy, and for Phily, good luck for them to enjoy the process. If our team is healthy enough, we might be in 8-9 with Miami or Indiana so maybe still secure a play-in spot

I think the roster is probably around play-in territory as currently constructed but if Jaylen or Derrick get hurt, that’s a team competing for a top 5-10 pick.

If the Celtics really try, as in not give much PT to the young guys and no little to no load management, I could see us finishing as high as maybe the 5-6 seed. But that would be a horrible idea, aside from the increased injury risk, I think getting a good draft pick is important. To contend in this era, a team needs good players on cheap deals. That’s young guys either on initial rookie contracts or rookie scale extensions. Also, by playing our young guys and fringe players more, at the cost of winning games, we can increase their value and trade them either at the deadline or next offseason.

We’re very top heavy with JB and D-White, and our defense and rebounding are pitiful.

Unless we improve with a roster that makes sense, I think ~35 wins and 10th or 11th seed are not out of the question, since we won’t (and shouldn’t) run our best guys into the ground during a dead season.

It all depends on how Tatums’s rehab is going. If it looks like there’s a chance he’ll be back by the playoffs and there’s no risk of reinjury, they shouldn’t tank at all, and they could absolutely wind up somewhere between the 4 and 7 seed, and would have a chance of being in the Finals again.

If Tatum is 100% out for the year, I hope they tank.
