I just want to say I love Al Horford, he has given us everything, help raise banner 18. He doesnt owe us nothing, and i hope he makes the decision he wants the most.

Do we really all hate the Warriors? Obviously we lost to them, and we always had some tough games in the IT days, but I never saw them as a rival or a team I hate. I’d much rather see him on GS than the Lakers or Sixers or someone like that.

As far as I’m concerned, Big Al’s earned the right to go where he wants to go. It’d mildly annoy me if he transparently ring chased and signed with a team like the Rockets but I’d get it. I don’t think that’s the case with Golden State. This current iteration of the Warriors is like the Celtics in ‘90-‘92. They’re dangerous and experienced enough to beat anyone on any given night but they’re too old and worn down to have a serious shot at a title.

Love Al and GS is a great fit on paper but they are not contending with or without him. Feels pretty pointless.

I find it baffling that anyone thinks a starting five of average age 36 or whatever it is has a shot at the title

I have to wonder if the Dame decision may also affect Horford’s decision to stay here. I know this coming season would still be a lost cause but if he feels he has 2 more years left in him, knowing he can join Dame,Tatum, Brown and White a year from now may make a difference.

I don’t see a realistic situation where he wins a ring, so I’m really hoping he just stays here. We have no chance of a ring next year, the lakers barely have the slightest chance, but not enough to go there specifically for a ring, and the warriors are nowhere near the best team in the west, or even top 3.

I don’t understand this take. The warriors are talented but they’re another year older and adding 39 year old Al isn’t moving the needle. Is the perfect situation joining a new team and getting eliminated in the first round?

I don’t really understand why Celtics fans hate the warriors so much. I also think it just fuels that fan base being annoying. They were just a veteran team that beat a young Celtics team, wasn’t really more to it than that.

If Al leaves, that’s not a destination that irks me in any way. New York, LA, Miami, Orlando (based off this playoffs). Something like that sure, but not GS

It does suck but relax my frirnd for Jonas Valunciunas is looking likely to leave the NBA therefore, the Denver Nuggets might splash out big and steal Horford from the Wartiors, which would be rather delicious karma all round lol

The longer this goes the more i hope we are just trying to find someone to take Niang so we can sign Al for two more years. I can dream right?

I don’t actually think GSW is the perfect situation for him mostly because I don’t think their chances of winning a title are really that high. They are, at best, the 5th best team in their conference (OKC, HOU, DEN, MIN) and not clearly better than LAC or LAL or DAL (when healthy).

If that’s where he wants to go I wish him luck, but I sort of think a team headlines by 37, 36, 35 and 39 year olds probably doesn’t have much of a shot.

I’m just glad that we were the ones to give him his ring. Bonus for being at home and in a playoff run where he had several huge games.

idk, I feel like if it was a done deal it would’ve been announced. I do feel like something is cooking with Simons and once that happens, they can settle things with Al. I don’t think Al is ring chasing. I could be wrong. But it was said that Al is not ready to make a decision at the beginning of Free Agency? Why? Cause they got to wait for the Simons thing to clear before they can offer Al something and then he would weigh that against the Warriors deal. If it is solely about money, then best offer would happen. The Warriors aren’t winning a chip. Dallas, OKC, and Timberwolves are still ahead of the Warriors.

Dubs have no chance. Nuggets definitely do, and Al would play his perfect role for them as a backup ⁴⁄₅ who doesn’t need to be out there for more than 20 minutes a night.
