Feels like Carlisle, stuck with the exact plan he had minutes wise for Siakam. And that is so goddamn stupid. The bench guys like Sheppard, toppin, etc are far less useful when they don’t have Haliburton pushing and facilitating. But he played them too much then took out Siakam their other star for way too long. 6 minutes straight to sit and then the Thunder built up their lead and the pacers got all the turnovers and lost their mojo. Genuinely coaching malpractice from Carlisle. Siakam used to play 40+ a night for nick nurse. He can sit for 2-3 minutes and come back in. He only ended with 36 minutes tonight. That whole stretch relied on mcconell alone way too much. Take pressure off him and they turn it over less. Also not enough getting Nembhard going like they did last year against Boston in the ECF when Haliburton was out. Also not sure I like no Turner in the 4th, couldn’t drag Chet out of the paint offensively and he hurt them in the glass. It’s not all on Carlisle obviously too many dumb turnovers from his guys and Haliburton got hurt and need to be better on the glass and smarter attacking Chet but cmon.

I have never in my life been more gutted for a team that isn’t mine–nothing ever has come close. That is one of the single most heartbreaking things I’ve seen in a basketball game.

The Pacers fought like hell to even force this game 7 situation, but what a cruel fate that they were robbed of a proper finish.

Thunder were a great team, firing on all cylinders, can’t be mad that they won. Sure you can be upset about some preferential ref treatment (I know I am) but I can’t deny that they are a very good team.

But man, the “what ifs” are going to haunt this game forever.
