This is just who he is and it doesn’t make sense.

He had 11(!) games of single-digit scoring this year. He had 5(!) games with 4 points of fewer. He had 2 games with 0 points. ZERO.

The dude is talented, but that sort of complete disappearing act is insane.

It’s why people saying he’s been the best player in the playoffs after game 4 were talking complete nonsense. This is already his 2nd single-digit scoring game, 4th game scoring 11 points or fewer, and 6th game under 15. Meanwhile people lose their collective minds when Ant puts up 16 against the best defense in basketball.

My opinion of KAT has drastically changed in this conference finals. I still don’t think he can be a #1 in a title contender (there are a few players who are, to be fair) but he’s showed himself to be a solid #2, sometimes even a 1b

If he could remove like 3 absolutely bone-headed plays per game, he’d be so much better. It’s wild how he has like 35 minutes looking great, and then 3 minutes of the absolute worst lowlights you have ever seen.

edit: i know you could kinda say this about everyone, but I swear KAT’s brain lapses are like a 5 point swing on just a handful of plays, like he’s instantly punished every time.

More talented but also more flawed. I’m not a KAT hater, but with him as your number 2, you have to make a lot of concessions, but there are no great options that fully utilize him and JB and shores up the defense. KAT is talented offensively obviously, but they’re forced to play another big with him for defense purposes, which clogs up the lane for both him and JB.

Brunson and KAT is honestly the best scoring duo in the NBA. It’s too bad they’re an automatic mid defense playing together. Thibs staggering the minutes through 4 qtrs was huge. Pacers only dominated the end of the 2nd when Thibs played our old starting lineup
