[Highlight] Jonathan Kuminga with the corner 3, and he is 8⁄8 from the field now.
I might have to delete my comment history
I’d hold off on that, his issue hasn’t been that he’s not good, it’s consistency. I hope he turns the corner on the bball iq side and leverages his athletic talents for us night in night out
He also doesn’t have a consistent role at all so obviously he isn’t gonna be consistent.
I can’t really buy into that line of thinking when there’s a bunch of players that come in do consistent work and ride pine for various times.
It’s his responsibility to watch film and play with enough consistency so that Kerr is confident putting him in the game.
Alternatively, he gets slotted into the rotation, plays badly, all the Kerr haters will then come out the woodwork and be upset that he gets minutes over someone else.
I want him to do well, I also don’t want him in the lineup unless Kerr thinks he can contribute consistently to winning games.
I understand what you’re saying here but the guys that are successful in doing that are so because that’s literally their role. They understood that they’re going to have inconsistent minutes throughout the year. Kuminga has had very consistent minutes until literally the last game of the year, so it’s something he’s had to adjust to
Yes, because the rest of the guys off the bench are so consistent lol. JK’s issue is just he doesn’t have a consistent 3 ball so it ruins Jimmy’s spacing. Not going to be consistent when your minutes aren’t consistent and you get pulled for committing a turnover or a missed rotation. To be fair he misses rotations more than others but he needs mins with Curry out and Butler hurt.
Is it consistency though? He’s one of those players that if you put him in for a lot of minutes, he’ll probably have a few turnovers but he looks to be able to give you consistent scoring throughout the game like he was doing prior to the ankle injury.
I feel like if anything is inconsistent with him, it’s his willingness to not force shit and just make the extra pass. When he isn’t forcing his offense (which is usually a turnover) every single possession, he looks a lot better. I feel like I wouldn’t necessarily call him “inconsistent” like you would with Buddy Hield.
Yeah my biggest gripe with Kuminga is his god awful bbiq/decision-making
Bro got his joy back
what curry does to a mf
That’s weird, curry usually makes me very happy
Red curry especially
Steph Curry gave Jonathan Kuminga depression
He randomly does this. Glad it’s at the biggest stage
Mike D: see guys, he still has great potential and value. Please don’t low ball us
cause Kerr randomly cuts his minutes
Yea, it wasn’t random gang. Not trying to shit on him while he’s having a good game but he was genuinely really terrible for awhile
Don’t feed the troll.
He was terrible since early March when he came back from his injury, looked nothing like he did before. Had plenty of chances to right himself but generally looked lost out there. Kerr gave him a ton of minutes in different lineups and nothing clicked.
If literally having to depend on him on the biggest stage is what it takes for him to wake up and realize he has the ability to go super saiyan and takes advantage of it then i’ll gladly sign that apology form.
But he can certainly play like this and then also look like he doesn’t belong on the same court as Pat Spencer at the same time and Dubs fans that actually watch games know this all too well lol.
nope it was definitely random. he randomly cut his minutes before Jimmy trade too
The fuck are you talking about Kuminga was out for 31 games, literally went down a month before the butler trade happened
and his minutes were never consistent before that too
It’s true, people dug deep into this recent slump/benching, but he has always had a short leash and Kerr will randomly bench him after a single play. He needs to play through mistakes, when he does he can reach a very high level of play. You can’t expect a 22 year old to play like a 10 year vet. They are still learning. It can help to prove a point but but at a certain point you are limiting his development and impact. You pull him after each mistake that is all anyone will see.
He’s been god awful the entire year. 4 days ago it was “why does Kerr have him in the game”
No he wasn’t. He started slow, then started rolling for like 17 games and played well. Then he got hurt and we got Jimmy while he was out. He was getting close to 30mins a night and lost those minutes when he got back and has been inconsistent since.
“god awful”
Kuminga had 50+ game stretch averaging 18 on 60% shooting last season and immediately started this season with minutes cut for no reason. he has no rhythm and Kerr only randomly plays him if someone gets hurt and then cuts his minutes again
imagine if he actually got consistent playing time
Playing himself into a big contract from the Nets
“Where Brooklyn at? Where Brooklyn at?”
Jonathan Kuminga, probably.
Kum Bucket in full force tonight
KumBucket is full tonight
This used to get you lots of downvotes
Overflowing fs
Jonathan “Jalen Green” Kuminga
give him 20 shots a game idc
At this point what have they got to lose? Warriors are maybe a lottery team without Curry.
He gonna get paid one way or another
I think there should be criticism for Kerr for not playing him all playoffs. He has obviously been struggling, and has been a net negative in the floor before this game, but it’s your job as a coach to put your players in the best position possible to succeed. Kerr was too inconsistent with his minutes.
fully agree. The kid showed so much promise for long ass stretches of time. This team lacks offensive and his athleticism alone warrants playing time. Especially playing the young, athletic, chippy, long (pause) players on the rockets. Very odd situation and i give the dude credit for handling it well and proving himself in this game.
No. It’s Kerr’s job to win. Not to keep Kuminga happy or get the best out of him.
The only good time to put in Kuminga is during garbage time.
Agree!! He has flaws but overall we need scorers and JK always will give us points. He should drive more instead of shooting the 3. If spacing was an issue, before Curry got hurt, Kerr should have played him off the bench with Curry (and not Jimmy). Now of course , not a choice.
I hope JK goes to team that can grow him. Since he will NEVER be Kerr’s option unless he has no option. I couldn’t believe it when Kerr put JK in lesser esteem than Santos.
You guys are so dumb to be criticizing Kerr at this stage like good God man. Don’t doubt Steve Kerr literally trending yesterday.
Not discrediting any of his accomplishments, he’s one of the best
Rest of the dubs about to waste a kum bucket game
Jonathan “Kum Buckets” Kuminga experience babyyy
Kuminga revenge tour
I rather him be consistently ok than random great moments

Lucky to tear his hamstring at the biggest stage in the world bro
Kuminga redemption game!
Wrong sub, but to be honest, Draymond Green could’ve probably been a decent “lumbering” point guard in the NBA..
Welcome Back Playoff Jordan Poole
No! Now Vivek will make his new GM offer Kuminga a max
Kerr is a great coach but it’s pretty stupid that he’s just refused to use Kuminga at all in the playoffs lol
disagree he was unplayable prior to tonight. He would be like -10 in 5 minutes every time he was on the floor. He is just super inconsistent
You know nothing about Kuminga
He looked pretty bad for the few minutes he played vs the rockets so i think its justified
Hope he stays hooping like this though
bruh how do you expect anyone to play good “for a couple of minutes” they get in an entire playoff series? Being completely benched fucks with a young players head. This kid was use to playing starter minutes and was on his way to a big contract. Right around the time they got jimmy kerr just cut his minutes. You can’t judge a player after this happens in the 3-5 minute runs they get after multiple dnp’s in the playoffs. It’s an impossible situation for a player especially a young one. I give him a lot of credit for tonight. He needs to get tf outta there.
Bro what Kuminga was hurt during that time. His minutes got cut whenwe saw that Kuminga + Butler on the floor at the same time was not good.
you do not just eliminate a player of his caliber’s minutes because “he didnt fit well with jimmy on the floor”. Not to this extent. Something deeper is obviously at player here. The kid has too much to offer to not be utilized in the postseason. I just don’t see how you don’t find a way to make it work as the head coach.
