This is the radio broadcast I captured from the game - from Jayson Tatum dunk, to the steal by Mikal Bridges, and the fact they couldn’t find someone to interview, and their opinions after the game.

She almost knocked off both of their headsets, lmao

The ability to collect herself then deliver the nuance of whats happening now in connection to larger narratives. She is one of the best.

She’s not supposed to speak because it’s distracting from the play-by-play. You’re totally right about her being a huge fan though. What you’re actually seeing is here trying her absolute hardest NOT to make any noise while also having a huge natural reaction to what was going on on the court.

She is great, has been doing the radio color commentating for a while and she has even done it on the MSG network streaming in place of Clyde.

She’s objective and passionate.

Knicks fans have been riding with Monica for years now. You can even see in this thread people want her to replace Clyde at MSG when he retires.

She got do broadcast a road trip with Breen earlier this season (Clyde doesn’t go on the road as much anymore) and the fans really liked her. MSG Network has kinda been trying out different people to eventually get that spot once Clyde finally calls it a career, so a bunch of people have gotten the opportunity. I’d say her and Jamal Crawford are the ones fans that I’ve seen seemed to like the most.

Fans love her in general though whether it’s the post game table or commentary. Definitely a rising star in the industry whatever she picks as her career path, whether it’s more national stuff or Knicks stuff.

Yeah she knows ball and she knows the Knicks. She was a former player too. 

She doesn’t over yap about meaningless shit like Doris. Monica keeps it real and brief. 

Yeah I feel like most of us do. She’s a Knicks fan but doesn’t act like the Knicks can do no wrong like many other color commentators in sports do. She calls out their bullshit, praises their positives, and provides solid insight. She checks all the boxes for me.

i think she’s great, she did the Christmas Day game with Mickey Vision, against the spurs this season and was fantastic

Yeah we adore her — she’s the worthy successor to Clyde

She is excellent and deserves whatever job she wants. Would love to see her take over for Clyde eventually, even though nobody can ever replace him. She is really smart, fairly objective, GREAT at knowing the time to inject commentary vs letting there be pauses and breaks to let moments soak in. And you can tell she’s a huge Knicks fan but doesn’t let it cloud her judgement or how she calls things.

She is often on ESPN now too I think.

Amongst Knicks fans she seems like the heir apparent for Clyde’s job when he’s done. We love Monica

I think the reception to her is very positive. She’s very insightful in her commentary and is very knowledgeable of the numbers along with the context and circumstances to properly interpret them. The best part though is her clear passion for calling these games for the Knicks. If Clyde ever decides to call it a career, I hope she succeeds him.

I like her as an alternate color commentator but it’s hard to replace Clyde. Her>Wally sczerbiak for sure though

Gotta appreciate the craft and work it takes to be a good announcer: keeping your emotions in check and having your talking points and stats ready to go at a moments notice. It’s harder than it looks.

She’s fantastic and has been doing these reaction vids to down-to-the-wire Knicks’ wins for a minute

MSG Network x Knicks really has some of the best basketball voices + brains in the league.

Knicks have been blessed by Clyde and Breen. The fact Monica has emerged in the past year or two is incredible. She’s brilliant and the natural heir to Clyde.

Absolutely love her. She’s stepped in for Clyde along with several others and she’s got what it takes more than most of em. I’d love her to take the reins when the GOAT finally steps down.

I work nights occasionally driving a truck. So I listen to games on the radio when I’m on the road. She’s easily one of my favorite commentators. She’s super knowledgeable and has a lot of passion for the Knicks

There are few people in this league that the game won’t be the same without as broadcasters. Clyde is one of them. Breen and Stu Lantz are my other two.

Yeah I love her too, as long she can be unbiased and call the Knicks deficiencies as well like Clyde she will be more than enough as the next color commentator.

I think most people expect for her to fill in for Clyde whenever he’s done. I selfishly hope it isn’t soon as I need at least a couple more seasons of Breen and Clyde calling games together.

I think there’s a consensus that Monica might have too much going on with ESPN, but it’d be great for her to at least be on games for MSG every once in a while.

Jamal Crawford is better replacement as a former NBA player imo. Monica just has kind of a high energy voice, but we already have that with Breen’s bangs

Funny cause he’s such a New England guy through and through but somehow he grew up a Knicks fan. Not sure if he hates the celts but this mustve felt good for him.

My son And I were on a road trip in texas and we wanted to watch the Mavs-Lakers game. I was driving (we had to get to our next destination) because of blackout rules we had to listen to the radio stream, it was actually a lot of fun.
