It’s a tradeoff. Thibs really didn’t want to call the first timeout with Hart on the ground but had to. He felt he’d rather keep the second one but that resulted in three empty offensive possessions while the Pistons scored on the other end. The Knicks genuinely looked like they were in a trance and were barely running offense. I think you’d rather take the timeout and hopefully score on those possessions which is way more likely to happen with the ball in Brunson’s hands than Cam Payne’s.

The Pistons are immensely talented. Duren and Thompson are a nightmare to score and defend against, their physicality is insane. Cade has some flaws but he can get you ²⁰⁄₁₀ most games. And this is without Ivey and Stew, which I think would completely turn this series around if they played.
