[Chancellor Johnson] Dillon Brooks’ comments about people calling Amen Thompson a ‘dirty player’: “I think the dirty player is Draymond giving him a little push… We hope Jimmy can get better.”
I feel like since the playoffs started all anybody has talked about is dirty plays and flopping lol
Feels like theres muitple sereis that could break out into fights lol
I would be disappointed if there isn’t at least 1 fight in Knicks-Pistons and/or Warriors-Rockets
Bucks-Pacers hate each other and Celtics-Magic is one hard foul/injury away from an all out brawl
Ironically Pacers vs Bucks feels like the least likely of the mentioned series to start a fight
i love how the cavs are just showing up to work, putting in their time, playing ethical basketball, clocking out, and going home.
Look at you on your high horse, come down here and fight with the rest of us peasants
Well Garland did diss Tyler Herro but I don’t Garland’s the type to fight someone
garland is from gary indiana.
So was Michael Jackson
There’s a rumor that Michael Jackson gave 2Pac that 2piece though
Organic free-range
it’s been my second favorite team to watch all year, and they’ve been the most fun to watch in the playoffs as well.
Most bucks fans are just mad at Doc
Warriors-Rockets fight would just be a long time coming, there was some beef even in the regular season. Knicks-Piston fight almost happened in the first 5 minutes of the last game
Piston vs anyone fight seems like always a possibility lol
Detroit teams do be scrappy
I thought they were going to get into a fight in the first quarter of the last game.
Lakers wolves feels like it’s gonna boil over at some point too
Nah I don’t think so. All of Ants trash talk seems to not be affecting Luka that much. Maybe DDV and Naz could start something like with the pistons but even that was an outlier case
Luka and Ant clearly actually like each other, they just have a competitive rivalry. They both want to be the guy in their gen, and are around the same age
Yeah, the fight is between Randle and LeBron or Randle and Vandy, Randle has actual beef with LeBron as he was essentially released by the Lakers to gain cap space to sign LeBron in free agency.
LeBron ain’t getting into a fight this late into his career. Vando very well might tho
Yeah, that fight would start with Randle doing something to LeBron then someone else (Vando most likely but really depends on who is on the court and is this close to the Laker’s bench) continuing it. My statement would better read the altercation starts with something between Randle and LeBron, but Lebron would maybe shove once and then get out of there and other Lakers would step in.
Stews coming back hopefully
I was gonna say, if a fight breaks out in our series, Stew will definitely be apart of it
I don’t see a fight between the Warriors and Rockets happen
that NY-DET game is one flagrant foul away from an all out brawl.
it would be fitting, it being in Detroit and all.
Imagine if we had a Pacers/Pistons Playoff Series. Forget one fight, we would have fatalities.
Jokic might fight his team.
A rockets warriors brawl needs to happen
This is when basketball is at its best for me. Love when teams just straight up hate each other
Jokic is def punching someone.
On his own team.
The stakes are higher, fans who barely watch games become more attuned to other players because they see them at least four games in a row, and the players are playing extra hard
As a result, we get soft fans who complain about everything
nailed it
Right, can we get a running count of the allegations? I think it’s over 9-10 players now that fans are whining about.
draymond is a given since hes a repeat offender for over a decade over now, but dort is making a run for his spot
Draymond is a given because dick punches >2
I don’t have a full history recall of Dort’s behavior but if we’re talking about the morant thing that’s just basketball.
full history recall of Dort’s behavior
There’s compilations of it on YouTube, & a short one was posted here; but I don’t think he’s anywhere close to Draymond’s level. I agree with you on the Morant play, and a majority of other ones, but a pattern is starting to form.
just check out his compilation of his series with luka last year. worst shit ive ever seen
Was it a reckless play on dorts part? Maybe. BUT Ja has historically done the reckless dunk
it’s simple really, every player that’s not on my team is either a scrub, dirty, or a dirty scrub
and my boys have never fouled a player in their lives
take a shot every time you hear the word “physicality”
This is my ghost talking. My corporeal form died five games ago from alcohol poisoning from that.
It’s because people don’t like basketball. They like controversy
Everyone said the league is soft. Don’t get mad now that the kids are trying
If the ref doesn’t call fouls, it will continue
Last guy they should be talking to lol
For better or worse that’s whole point of the question😂
I mean why not ask an expert?
Yeah, when i started reading the headline, i was really hoping the quote would be, “everyone knows the only dirty player on this team is me.”
“Amen, dirty? Have you seen me?”
I was fully expecting him to say that too. Lol
King Von said end gun violence

“I like watching Jimmy scream in pain. I think it’s important.”
You can clearly see from the baseline angle Steven Adams leg pushes Amen and Draymond actually backs off for a split second and Amen falls
Yeah don’t know why people keep saying Draymond pushed him. The push very clearly came from Adams. Draymond’s leg tripped Amen up after the push and at that point he had completely lost his balance.
Yeah it was clearly a freak accident. Amen Thompson isn’t dirty, and Draymond didn’t injure his own teammate.
Obviously, Brooks said this to push Draymond to the edge and hope for an outburst, but instead people will look at this and say “Yeah Draymond bad, even Brooks said it!”
That’s how I see it too. It’s easy to blame Draymond for things, but almost every angle I’ve seen is conclusive. Draymond was trying to box out, it’s Adams who inadvertently pushed Amen.
I actually blame SVG for perpetuating that storyline. He was the first to say Draymond pushed Amen during the broadcast. After showing replays, he didn’t correct himself. Did the same thing on at least a couple other calls as well.
SVG has been a warriors hater since he lost out on the coaching job to Kerr.
SVG didn’t lose the coaching job to Kerr. He was actually the #1 candidate for the job and Kerr was about to take the Knicks coaching gig cuz Phil Jackson offered it to him.
Detroit offered SVG a president role along with the coaching gig and he took it. The warriors ownership scrambled and offered the job to Kerr and at the last moment, he declined the Knicks coaching gig for the warriors. The Knicks then hired Derek Fisher.
Bill Simmons would call this a Sliding Doors moment… if things went down with SVG as coach of warriors and Kerr as Knicks coach, the Knicks would still suck ass and the Warriors probably don’t win any championships as Cleveland loomed large with Lebrons return. SVG fucked up the Detroit gig and got shitcanned. Derek Fisher fucked up the Knicks gig and almost got killed by ex-Warrior Matt Barnes. Kerr is still the Warriors coach and freely admits he dodged a bullet by not taking the Knicks job.
Lmao he is a big rockets hater too it seems. I think he just hates basketball ngl
I don’t think Brooks has any cache. Anyone pointing to him as a voice of reason is already so biased they’re irrelevant
They don’t need reason. People will hate on the Warriors so much they’ll just confidently claim some bullshit like “Curry gets a favorable whistle” just because “Warriors bad.”
It’s not a freak accident
Injuries like this are totally predictable when you allow reckless physicality
That’s true, but it’s a freak accident in the sense that Amen and Draymond clearly didn’t mean to injure Jimmy. Hence why it’s an accident.
In terms of the reckless physicality, the blame lies with the refs not the players.
Are you saying Dramond does not play with reckless physicality lmao
Bro you got it wrong, he plays with intentional physicality
reckless physicality
two players trying to grab an offensive rebound is not nearly reckless physicality
nobody smart cares what brooks says. He said stupid shit on the Grizzlies, on team Canada, and now the rockets. He comes out a loser every time. Winning a first round series against an injured warriors team would be the greatest achievement of his career (besides attaining generational wealth lol)
I wish Dillon would just shut up and play ball in this instance
People keep saying Draymond pushed him because they hate draymond lol. If he’s even close to a physical play its his fault. He got kicked in the nuts before this season and people were saying he was moving his crotch aggressively towards the leg lmfao. He’s earned his rep, but people act like no other players have except him and brooks because those guys have been enforcers in the playoffs for years.
People keep saying Draymond pushed him because they hate draymond lol
100%
People keep saying Draymond pushed him because they hate draymond lol.
Also because Stan Van Gundy’s dumb ass said it on national television during the game, and most fans just repeat whatever the TV guys say.
He also said “This is incredible!” while Butler was writhing in pain on the ground.
As soon as an announcer says something it’s almost impossible to change the narrative
him gushing about the playoff physicality right after butler suffered an obviously bad fall was crazy
People in this sub hate Dray (understandable in most cases) so he will never get the benefit of the doubt but it’s now become super clear that he didnt push Amen so this is classic Brooks pushing a false narrative
People keep saying it because stan van gundy said it on tv and people have a hate boner for Draymond so they refuse to see anything to the contrary. 99% of the people here have no clue about basketball.
Yeah don’t know why people keep saying Draymond pushed him.
This sub will look for any reason to hate Draymond.
Draymond gives himself plenty of reasons for people to hate him.
Which is exactly why it’s weird that people go out of their way to exaggerate or just make stuff up.
thank you, he buckles Amen’s leg from behind. At his size, not hard to see why Amen goes flying
He gets squished in the middle of everybody, unfortunate.
“You know, I’m something of a dirty player myself”
Game knows game
This meme never gets old. I picture Dafoe’s shit eating grin every time.
This got me lol
lmao, I read this in his voice
Mr. Broken Code
HE POKES BEARS
So good.
Dillon Brooks is a top 5 ragebaiter.
Instigating is an art.
Yes Draymond is dirty but Jimmy’s fall was not his fault
Edit: I’m also not blaming Amen, it was an accident
I saw a good straight on angle.
It was pretty clear that Amen’s feet were tangled up with Dray’s then Adams ran into Amen pushing him forward.
No one is at fault
we don’t need to do the jfk assassination treatment for this lol, anyone with eyes can see it was just an unfortunate accident
Wasn’t necessarily Amen’s fault either just a freak accident
Yeah gotta give Amen Al-Shaair the benefit of the doubt

That dude saying that foul on Giannis is a good playoff foul is a clown wtf
Kid has a temper issue. 3 ejections for dirty plays like that in a single season is not cool
yeah that’s dirty play, especially the giannis one. The Maxi one, i get it, they were jawing at each other and pushing each other around - still need to keep your cool and not be an aggressor. that giannis one is just blatant bullshit and shouldn’t be in the league.
the herro one, out of line. they both start with each other and it looks like herro was the initial physical one, but the entire rest of that sequence is out of line shit that should include a suspension.
Hmm yea the nuance with the Maxi incident I can understand but the Giannis one is just so bad man. Dragging someone by the neck down with your full body weight could’ve ended up terribly. But all of this shit definitely making me more tuned into this series than I initially anticipated haha
grabbing giannis there? horrible. throwing herro to the ground by the jersey? horrible. he should have received a suspension for both of those plays.
i have seen both of those plays, but seeing them back to back, really highlights that Amen can be a sore loser and play dirty.
But obviously, that has nothing to do with what happened to Butler.
Not saying at all that Amen meant to hurt Butler, but people pretending like either Thompson twin has always been innocent, clean players clearly have no idea what they’re talking about.
Giannis one is ridiculous and dirty for sure. The other two though, isn’t that what people want? Physicality and intensity, throwing people down? Kobe, Shaq, MJ, Reggie, Barkley, Bird, Dr J have all thrown people down and throw punches and people love them
Reminds of the play when Klay tore his ACL after falling awkwardly because Danny Green tried to chase-down block him.
Correct
I blame the refs for turning the game into a brawl by not calling anything
It wasn’t his fault but this comment will certainly get in his head
Yeah but I’m concerned that it will be in an “I’ll show them what dirty looks like…” kind of way.
I think the dirty player is Draymond
True
Giving him a little push
Get your eyes checked Brooks. Anyone with decent eyes can see that Draymond didn’t push amen on that play if anything he’s trying to box him out.
Brooks is ragebaiting draymond
Knowing Draymond, It will work.
Worked real well last time
It will. Hopefully all of the people cheering for it won’t be the same ones crying when we try to “match their physicality”.
Big guy over here bragging about having decent eyes
Dillon Brooks knows what he’s saying lol
What push
I mean, Brooks has literally spear-ed GPII and tripped up steph with his feet seemingly for no reason whatsoever, in this series only. I don’t need to even go back any further.
Sure Draymond is a piece of shit and gets leeway from refs like no other, but Brooks of all people can’t take a high ground, especially here when in fact, Draymond did not push Amen Thompson into Jimmy.
Brooks is looking to score an injury before the series is done.
Draymond is dirty but I don’t recall him ever causing a serious injury. Cant be said for Brooks.
Full list of players who have ever missed a game due to Draymond Green:
don’t forget
2. Draymond Green (suspensions)
Draymond caused himself to miss more games than causing anyone else lol. He’s 1 not 2
Now do Brooks.
I cant recall a player that has missed time due to Draymond’s antics. He’s for sure reckless and plays a little dirty but people act like he’s done something like Brooks did GPII. By far the worst thing Dray has done was punch JP since that was a horrible teammate move and detrimental to the trust across the team, but he’s has never sidelined someone like Jokic did Morris
Not for lack of trying
Yup lol. A great example would be the stomp on sabonis
Most people hate KPJ, but he did end up missing quite a few games from the hip contusion that never really healed that he received from a Draymond tackle.
We’ll find out when Stevo tries to have kids.
Shhh.. r/nba has a fetish on hating on draymond so let them get their jizz of the day
That’s rich coming from him, he’s just as dirty if not more.
Draymond is bad because of his “antics”. He pushes, has tantrums, punches etc, but he doesn’t really “injure”guys. He’s dirty don’t get me wrong, but not the same kind of dirty as guys like Brooks or Dort where they actually injure and take guys out. Not throwing Dort in there for last night btw, he has an extensive history.
I can’t think of anyone who has had to leave or miss a game from Draymond injuring them.
I would say dirtier.
Draymond way more of a reckless asshole-chopping Nurkic, falling onto Brown, Adams nuts kick
But Brooks when it comes to injuring players-Insane foul on GP2 causing him to miss the series, tangling up Steph’s ankles on purpose in game 2
Dude almost killed GP2. Last guy I wanna hear.
he took a dive into GP’s legs the first game. NBA needs to get the Rockets playing basketball again. Roughing up the other team shouldn’t be your top strategy. Because teams will adjust to play allowed. And I think many are seeing they need to load up on expendable enforcers next season for teams like Houston. Any team that meets Rockets in the West need to understand they will come out of the series missing pieces.
This Draymond pushed Amen thing needs to die.
No question. Everyone knows when you box a player out from the side, it’ll cause them to uncontrollably launch forward. 100%
Not only launch forward, but also extend your arms up, away from the floor. Which also happened to be exactly where Butler’s legs were.
That’s what I’m saying. Why doesn’t he just fall straight down from the trip and catch himself with his arms? He instead pushes to take another step and put his arms up and push his arms out as soon as contact happens. If I’m falling down I’m putting my hands towards the floor
Because if you fall straight down to the floor, you can’t take the other person out with you. Which is why this was clearly intentional by Amen. I don’t think he meant to take JB out of the game, but he definitely meant to take him down with him.
That’s the furthest I’d go I think. Probably didn’t mean to injured him but possibly meant to take him out of the play.
DB is wrong here (about the push) but so is everyone else calling Amen a dirty player trying to injure Jimmy.
“I think the dirty player is Draymond giving him a little push
Weird thing to lie about.
Dirty dirty Brooks
He got pushed by your teammate Steven Adams.
🤣
Draymond is a dirty player. But he didn’t cause the Jimmy injury. Brooks is also a dirty player.
Amen wasn’t dirty, he was going for the offensive rebound off his miss and got smushed between Adams and Draymond and fell into Jimmy.
Injuries happen and it sucks but there were no dirty plays.
Amen is dirty, but this wasn’t a dirty play*
No one pushed anyone intentionally on that play. I think Amen was at worst a little reckless but at the same time it was kind of a crazy domino effect of Podz and Adams jostling which sent Dray into Thompson. Really unfortunate result but I wouldn’t call any of it dirty.
there’s nothing reckless about falling forward because the mountain of a man that is steven adams got pushed into you from behind and your feet got snagged
i don’t know why people keep going ‘not dirty, just a little reckless’, like no, there is literally no element of recklessness in being turned into a human pinball there. (that’s a minor lie, i actually do know why they keep saying that, but it’s fucking annoying)
i don’t think Amen’s dirty, it seems pretty obvious to me that he slipped. Dillon Brooks, on the other hand
Have you not seen what Amen has done? He’s definitely a dirty player. He even tried to yank Giannis’s head off in a game
Hard elbow to Maxi Kleber’s neck, throwing Herro the floor, the Giannis foul. And he’s only a second year player.
If Amen played for celtics, lakers, knicks, or warriors his reputation would be so much different. He gets a pass because he’s on the rockets and people don’t care if they lose to the rockets as much yet.
It’s partially because of team and also because he is young. If he maintains this track record of rough fouls/fighting he will eventually develop a reputation as a dirty player.
Some players are just good at avoiding that reputation. CP3 is dirty as hell but you don’t hear it much, or people will say the softer term “gamesmanship” or “manipulation”.
He body-slammed Hero. People are in this stage where they love a young aggressive player and willfully ignore all the evidence. Helps that they’re playing the Warriors and people can outright lie and say it was Draymond.
Amen is for sure out of the norm… need receipts?
looked like Adams shoved Thompson imo
Brooks broke GP2’s arm in 2022. Draymond has never actually injured anyone. They are not the same
Guess Brooks has forgotten what he did to GP2 in 2022..
Yeah, before he tackled GP2 on Wednesday.
Brooks: “…this stuff happens.”
this guy is an all time a hole
what had brooks been watching all year. Ameen is dirty as they come is he saying that hit on giannis is a basketball play now lol. fuck outta here
Everyone watching Dillon Brooks call Draymond Green a dirty player
Amens not dirty… can someone queue up the dirty play reel dedicated to Amen lmao
This dude lol
This guy intentionally injured GP2 in game 2 2022 after GP2 dunked on Bane in game 1
Dillon Brooks calling anyone dirty is peak irony. Dillon Brooks only value to an NBA team is being team goon.
Amen tripped on Adams’ foot crashing hard. Bit reckless trying to make a play, but not dirty.
Game recognizes game
Jesus fucking Christ what a goddamn clown. 🤡 Has he ever looked in the mirror? Absolute embarrassment to this league.
Amen is a rookie and he already has a compilation of dirty plays
Bruh he’s a 2nd year, lol.
You’re right. Point still stands. He’s barely been in the league and you can find multiple instances of dirty plays. That means you’re a dirty player.
If you can’t beat them, injure their stars.
Coming from the mouth of the dirtiest player!
Draymond emergency pod to address these comments dropping tonight
Steve Kerr is one of the smartest and most honest guys in the league, and if he had his guys look at the tape and say they didn’t see anything wrong from Thompson, I’m going to stick with that.
Right. But it’s not Draymonds fault.
It wasn’t intentional but Amen trash for not checking on Jimmy after it happened no excuse for that.
If he dies he dies
Amen looked guilty as hell rolling around faking an injury after instead
I think he flopped and accidentally injured Jimmy. Either way reckless and the movement was intentional. Even if the injury was accidental, purposefully reckless play should be punished.
I DONT THINK THE AMEN THOMPSON OR THE LU DORT PLAYS WERE DIRTY
There is 100 percent conclusive evidence that Draymond did not push Thompson. There is no conclusive evidence that Thompson did not mean to push butler.
Yet the standard belief on this sub seems to be that Draymond 100 percent pushed Thompson and Thompson had zero Ill or reckless intent to take out Jimmy.
Then these same people claim warrior fans are the biased ones.
For what it’s worth, when Thompson raised his arms up as butler flew buy, I think he was intending to brace himself.
That said, the way this series is going, it wouldn’t shock me if he noticed butler out of the corner of his eye and made a move to prevent him from getting the ball.
Like I said, I don’t think that happened But there is no way of knowing.
All I know is that Draymond just lost DPOY and he’s probably going to be more irritable than usual
Why does blame need to be assigned? Clearly an accident from everyone in the area.
Amen Thompson wasn’t pushed
Mane shut yo stupid azz up
Brooks is such a pot.
What a timeline 😀
Herro sends his regards
This guy is the last person who should be talking about dirty. Him, McDaniels and Lu Dort are disgraceful.
ill take the downvotes but amen is really starting to trend this way, and people will start to talk about it once he isnt playing the warriors anymore. noone is willing to accept it right now because the jimmy injury was 100% not his fault
its only his 2nd year in the league and hes already been ejected 3 times, and suspended once. this year alone he has two pretty big instances that I would call dirty being the tyler herro fight and the giannis flagrant 2
Draymond, Kerr and the Warriors are the only ones who can have me cheering on Dillon Brooks, that’s where we are
I really don’t get this argument at all and I also don’t get the “tragic accident” schtick. Adams was not being moved by Podz, Podz barely affected Adams whatsoever. Draymond is actively boxing Amen out and moving away from Jimmy. Amen was trying to push between Adams and Draymond to contest the offensive board and his manner of doing it was incredibly reckless. Do I think it was intentional? Highly doubt it. But I do believe it was reckless enough to warrant repercussions. Also don’t know why people are trying so hard to ignore Amen’s history as a reckless if not dirty player just because a different dirty player was also in the vicinity. This whole narrative sucks
