Denver Nuggets bench reaction to the closing moments of the game (via TNT OT)
You know it’s bad when the full uncut bench cam gets posted.
And you don’t need to see any action that’s taking place to know how the sequence plays out lol their reactions are perfect.
Except the head coach, he barely reacts.
He did react. His heart went right into his stomach. Ive seen heartbroken Malone, and that is him.
shoutout to him for remaining stoic though
He checked the replay at the sideline to make sure. Nothing to argue. Hes a good leader and probably a good person to have around in an emergency tbh. He gets more shit than he deserves.
When the bench players covering their mouths talking about you
Yessir you know they talking shit. Rightfully so
“I guess it’s true the Legend of Westbrick in inside our house!!”
Would like to know what the guy immediately whispered into Murray’s ear not .5 second after the blown layup
PJ Hall, rookie from Clemson
“You should have laced them up tonight Mal” lol
It’s not even the foul on a three point shot that was going to miss anyway. It’s the blown layup with 10 seconds left when all you have to do is pull the ball out and get fouled.
Westbrook isnt a good FT shooter, and the two pts only makes it a threee pt lead either way. The layup was the right call he just farted mentally
Also, he and CB were charging the rim fast. Would look weird for Westbrook to get the ball and then slow it down - I bet the fans and bench would be mad at him.
Right move in that 2v1 moment was the layup, he just missed it.
i might be wrong but looks like dude at 1:17 says “that’s westbrook” and then strawther says “bro that’s him”
It’s like they die twice 😭
Shit had me dead and I wasn’t even there
I was there and that game was an emotional rollercoaster
Rollercoaster, more like car flying off a cliff
[removed]
This has been cathartic. Westbrook dickriders we’re too confident after a good stretch of games by the Geodude. He’s gonna shit the bed like this a lot more in playoffs.
Wait why geodude😭
Bricks? Hands of stone? No touch?
If that’s why then Lakers fans are easily haters of decade for coming up with an insanely creative hatename.
Still doesn’t top Darvin Hamas
I thought it was his face/headshape. I remember people used to call him ninja turtle too 😭
It’s both
He didn’t get the name Westbrick for nothing, and really once his athleticism started to fade he started falling off.
Inject this straight into my veins.
This is so good
How do you even look at your teammates in the face if this is their reaction to what you just did on the court? Lmao
Russ probably went to the shower and straight home after. Fucking embarrassing way to throw a game
That’s exactly what he did, skip media availability and dipped, but not before confronting a fan on the way out of the arena.
He’s such a bum
even worse the fan was an 11yo girl asking for an autograph… truly despicable
MITwestbrook in absolute shambles
Never meet your heroes, kids
What they didn’t show was that 11yo girl had his picture with the name WestBrick on it.
TRULY DESPICABLE
I mean who in their right mind is asking Westbrook for an autograph after that lmao. Parents should probably be able to figure out that that wasn’t the night
Lmao you guys are such fickle karma chasers.
I’ve hated that bum since my college days in Oklahoma
How didn’t he take you to the finals?
Russ went to UCLA
wait actually? got footage?
He is lucky if they didn’t turn the water pressure off
You can see some of them going through the various stages of grief as the realization of what’s happening washes over them. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression. I think Russ might just be perpetually in the denial stage.
Wouldn’t he be used to it at this point?
“Let’s try to have fun guys” -Russ
He was literally smiling after throwing the layup. Then proceeded to give away 3 free throws.
I love how Malone puts his note cards away like “welp, I ain’t got nothing for this shit”.
It’s like an entire season of reality TV drama compressed into 45 seconds.
Nah this was actually hilarious— from the build up to the release. It looked like the youngins processed what they just witnessed and started clownin everything about the decisions made. Murray had to tell the youngins to watch what they were saying cause they were coming back to the bench. Malone didn’t know what to do with himself. I wouldn’t wish that to happen to my worst enemy. At the same time I can’t help but cry laughing because of all people WESTBROOK messed up Joker’s historical night in the stupidest way possible.
I think Murray was quieting the youngins because people like us are going to be watching from our couch lol. He saw the camera was panning at the bench
Honestly good look for Murray, good awareness/leadership.
Bout the positive I can possibly glean from this, jesus fucking christ
Jamal has learned some hard lessons about camera awareness
Well done.
Long, hard lessons
Pretty much. I appreciate how this cameraman chose to pan over to the bench while you have the other operator focusing on the disaster.
and Trey calling DJ back to the bench since the game wasn’t over lol
Also love how emotionally invested Holmes already looks in the team
I did wish exactly this on the chicken nuggets and man was the wish granted in exquisite fashion
Respect the hate
Respect the love for the hate🫡 play hard on them dudes
Nuggets crash out in spectacular fashion AND it’s Westbrick’s fault?? Lakers fans about to OD on schadenfreude
“dear Jesus, I wish for Jokic to have an historic night only for it to be ruined by Westbrook smoking a layup and unnecessarily fouling on a 3 with .1 seconds left. Thanks pal.”
Hate you too xoxo
I love the assistant who was trying to show Malone the clipboard. “I don’t think that’s what we drew up, boss”
I saw that too. Like what is he supposed to offer in that moment haha. FYI - Rick Adelman’s son.
Fuck Mike Malone lol
The WestBrook Experience
Do you actually think the B in Westbrook is capitalized?
BYes
West🅱rick
Correction, The WestBrick Experience
don’t attack his wife and kids!!!!!!!
It was a wonderful thing when the Warriors played the Rockets on Christmas in 2019. No Steph, no Klay, no problem. Westbrook kept shooting and missing - 0-8 from three and 11-32 overall.
Wasn’t this when the warriors were godawful too? That was a hilarious game
Yes. Klay was out with a torn ACL and Steph was out with a broken hand.
lakers and clippers all experienced this, I don’t know why anyone would be surprised, it’s only a matter of time. Don’t get me wrong, he can play well, but ideally he should only play around 20 mins.
ideally not the final minutes of a clutch game too
Doesn’t happen if Murray isn’t there in streets as well. Well timed injury as per.
Wolves also were down two of their better shooters. Sucks for both of us to not be fully healthy but what a hell of a game regardless.
And he would shoot the Thunder out of the game so many times.
Rockets too
even OKC man
That hero ball.
when has Russ ever been the hero when it actually matters
OKC Russ was full of energy but that was KDs team
Exactly. Yet you’d find Russell missing a bunch of midrange shots in tight games instead of getting the ball to KD.
As a 2nd tier OKC fan back in the day, this has always been him in some way. Boneheaded plays are built into the Westbrook experience, it’s just the truth.
The Lakers tried warning the Clippers, and they didn’t listen. Then, the Clippers tried warning the Nuggets, but they too didn’t listen.
grimreapermeme.jpg
Jazz were spared. Twice
Nah man, the Jazz don’t have any playoff aspirations. Westbrook would lead them to 30-52 and put up 20/8/8 in 36 mins on 45% TS. Then all his fans would use that to prove how elite he is.
Somehow I still think that would be worse than where the Jazz are now
Trauma bonding 💔☹️
my takeaway from this video is how ass the nuggets bench is (which i already knew). half these guys look like generic made up guys from my 2k draft class. who are these people?
i have never seen half these people in my life
Oh look at Mr. Fancy Pants 50% over here.
[==== ] 50%
That’s what makes it so bad though. Those no name guys are questioning how the fuck this former MVP can actually be that fucking brain dead.
they just like us fr fr I bet they’re redditors
Jalen Pickett actually started the game in Westbrooks place and he’s the one holding his hands out telling him to slow down on the fast break, Jamal is pointing to go to the hoop, total chaos.
Nuggets front office wasting jokic prime with a bunch of bums. The starting line up is way overpaid especially Jamal and MPJ. There’s way better options for half the price.
MPJ has tanked the Nuggs so hard.
You mean 18/7/2 and bad defense isn’t a max contract?
It feels like this is just the modern league. You get some luck with injuries and win a chip, all the stars get their bag, and then you have a crappy bench and can’t win anything for a few years.
everytime we point this out on our subreddit we get criticized for being doomers.
My takeaway was “DeAndre Jordan is still on a roster?!”
One guy on the left looks like he’s from some random high school…
malone looks like a guy who has blown a million bucks on a meme stock
:( GME will squeeze …one day! /s
7 million over 2 years to be exact
Malone looks like he’s about to pass out
Bro, y’all are doing Westbrook so wrong. Y’all bringing back the Finals against the Heat lol…
Lmao
What does that mean..
Legendary video. Hopefully this ensures russ gets less playing time in the playoffs. Might benefit nuggets 😂
He was only there because Murray was injured, so I fucking hope so. Who knows with his injuries though..
No one is going to remember Lebron 5pt swing vs the bulls after this.
This Is way worse. When someone makes a half court game winner. Basketball gods were juste smilling upon that team
Giddey WON that game with a miracle half court shot. Westbrook LOST this game with two terrible low IQ plays, they’re not even close
Yeah honestly this is historically bad. Lakers game can’t really compare with this.
DJ clueless yet again
Like what the fuck man he gave a fist pump and meandered onto the court thinking they just won. He had no clue what just happened.
DeAndre Jordan and Deandre Ayton fighting over who’s the most pedestrian of all the active players.
As someone who was at the game, it was so loud that I think most people in the building did not know that the whistle was blown and thought the Nuggets had won. It took at least 10-15 seconds until it started to dawn on the whole crowd that a foul occurred.
Yeah I can echo that — Russ and NAW had crashed out and weren’t visible and it was too loud to hear the whistle, I was pretty sure the game was over
I mean, a bunch of his teammates reacted to the foul immediately so I’m not sure DJ gets a pass on that count.
DJ been in the league much longer than DA.
Seriously. He has like 10 years on DA lol
the disgust on popeye jones face
That was the worst ending to one of the best games. But the Nuggets knew what they were getting when they signed Westbrook: a high-energy player that can make stupid plays, especially in late-game situations.
He wouldn’t have been on the court if Murray wasn’t in street clothes. Just our luck.
Arguably, we could have been closing with Pickett over Westbrook since he’s a much lower mistake player.
That said, Malone loves and trusts Westbrook. And from everything we have heard, the locker room trusts him as well. He’s a high energy guy.
And honestly, everyone is clowning on the decision to close wig Westbrook here, but we are also forgetting that despite the two questionable decisions he made, he’s also the one who jumped the passing lane to get the steal.
For better or worse, it’s all a part of the Westbrook experience. He adds a level of volatility and variability that few other players do. Arguably with jokic, you can say you want as little volatility as possible. But we have also seen that these teams have often lacked fire and passion, which is something Westbrook brings (and one of the unsung aspects of losing Bruce brown, who also filled that same role).
That said, Malone loves and trusts Westbrook.
Well, hopefully he’s learned from that.
Even in the last 2 season it was very clear that Westbrook is just very negative player and nobody wants him. It was very dumb to have him in the roster in this year.
I in fact thought it was a great ending
Why are they only up 1 point when Jokic has 61 points?
I’m with Malone on this. The whole team lost, not just Westbrook.
Nuggets 3pt% (12-34): 35%
Minus Jokic (6-23): 26%
Minus Jokic/AG (2-15): 15%
That’s your game folks.
what Westbrook did was obv terrible but you can’t look at these numbers and pin it all on him lol
Nuggets should be glad he pulled this in a regular season game instead of a playoffs game. At least now you understand he should play limited minutes in the final minutes of close games.
Westbrook should not see closing minutes in the playoffs. I think this truly sealed it.
need more of these angles. tired of all this media trained bs. the coach said he felt bad for russ like he didn’t have multiple possessions to win it. i be wanting to know how they REALLY feel💀 the coach had no reaction when russ missed the layup but ik he was LIVID
All them dudes in street clothes tho.
For a top 75 player he might have the lowest BBIQ which is crazy since he’s a passing oriented PG.
he’s a passing oriented PG
Nah he’s an assist getter, not a proper passing PG at all. He’s never been a proper floor general like the majority of passing oriented PGs are.
Cinema
Same reaction , Westbrook sold this so fucking hard its unbelievable
Loved seeing Murray’s and Malone’s stupid faces hold that L.
Still salty huh
rent free 😂
he really saved bron from having the worst blunder of the season, what a brodie
Westbrook has so many endings like this, he really shouldn’t be in closing games.
Hey wait a second
https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/196xwrg/lowlight_russel_westbrook_misses_last_second_open/
Win/lose/draw just have fun right
Man, those were dark times 😔
You die your first death when Russ misses the layup and you die your final death when he fouls a 3pt shooter to lose the game.
Westbrickiro: Nuggets Die Twice
As a neutral fan, I fucking hate Westbrook
Murray looks thin again!
this is a masterpiece
Pickett should have been in the game. Russ is too dumb for his own good.
Russ just doing us a solid missing that layup so we didn’t have to do 3OT
Saric reaction is lowkey VERY funny. He cant believe what he just saw. When Russ smoked that layup he knew they were fucked
he definitely knew first that they were fucked
Yall can’t tell me after watching Jamal there that he doesn’t care. He is locked in even when he isn’t playing. You could tell that one hurt him. Crazy playoff run coming from him.
it may be overreacting to one small moment, but i actually totally agree with you. and the way he clearly goes over and tells those guys what clearly was “there’s cameras pointing at us and also they’re coming over to the bench so maybe save it”
Thanks for sharing, this was very interesting. I would not have expected anything different, but interesting nevertheless.
Geez. It’s even feels terrible more how Westbrick fumbled this game. If I were him, I wouldn’t be able to face anyone. 😬
Two bad plays in a row. It seems he sold the game 😅
Honestly this can be even good for the Denver. Maybe Malone will stop to overtrust Westbrook. Playoff is coming. Better this shit happeneds now than in playoff.
Nuggets are playing tonight, surely they rest starters after double OT last night.
PJ Hall has really been the “all of us” reaction guy this season. It’s been fun. I think his mom got mad at him for the cameras catching him saying fuck. :)
Watson and Strawther be vibin
DeAndre Jordan does a fistpump cuz he had money on MVP Westbrick fucking up tonite.
The Fix is In !¡?‽
Welcome to Westbrook Penitentiary!!
Thats what westbrook is to you ,giving you mixed feeling every fvcking game 😂
Wow. Murray and Jordan looking dumbfounded lolol.
Still love Westbrook no matter what. Why he gotta always be doin shit like this though 😂
Why did malone not signal to STOP AND DON’T SHOOT
DJ has no clue wtf was going on 😭
Just keep having fun, bro.
Russ has been my favorite player for awhile, and there’s been some things over the past 3, 4, 5 years that he’s done that I just feel awful about. Maybe it’s that he plays with such an intensity that when he fails its like I FEEL it. But he’s just had a number of these kinds of things happen in the late stages of his career.
Anybody get an extra Grateful Dead bucket hat last night?
Vintage Lakers Westbrick
This reminds of a specific players reaction when a football team decided not to run the ball on the goal line during a very important game.
The discrepancy in free throws attempted was the craziest thing about this game.
r/WatchPeopleDieInside
I was pissed watching the game, but this video is hilarious
Jamal knew the whole time
Bricked and kicked. Westbrick Special.
Love to see it 😂
Richard Sherman reaction in basketball?
r/watchpeopledieinside
Shows why he has no rings yet even with all that athleticism. Guy feeds off speed and tunnelvisions.
Vibes killer
Every time I see Nuggets bench reactions I remember that Deandre Jordan is somehow still on a roster. I wish I could be an nba cheerleader player.
lmaooooo just pure shock and disbelief.
Gotta love the brick closing windows wherever he goes
Westbrick is such a pos.
/r/surrendercobra
Lmao gg Denver !! Awooooooo!!!!
Kudos to coach for being steady the whole time. Also, can Jordan get his big dumb foot off the court?
