I mean when hes treated how he feels he should be he is professional. Doest that mean he IS professional always? hell no lmao. Thats why he blended so well with the Miami culture, it was a perfect match. But it was always gunna be weird as Time went on , At this point I think its due for a breakup 100%. jimmy can still perform, but he’s old and Rileys not gunna pay him what he wants. One of them would feel slighted by deal and They both have egos the size of North America. Rileys got a chance to deal him for future assets and jimmys got a chance to go elsewhere and prove he’s still him. Its better for everyone imo.

People here seem to be conflating being unprofessional with having a disagreement with management. Has he said anything unprofessional? Ditched any games he was meant to play?

He played the game in Chicago, Minnesota and Philly, and won all three times. The press attacks guys for flexing their power, and they know it. They saw it with bron to Miami and la. Saw it with Durant in sf and Brooklyn. We’ve seen it with harden, etc, etc. teams have better press than individuals.

But public opinion is just emotions. The money, where their home is and what team they play for is all very real.

So he gets dragged over the coals. So what? He’s still very desirable. This isn’t a Beal or even Zion situation. Jimmy is still a proven winner. Someone will pay him. He’s good enough to choose who. Why be emotional? He’s just playing the game to get his desired outcome. He’s been through it enough times to take a step back and approach it with acumen.

At least that’s the way I see it. This doesn’t feel like a klay Thomson type deal to me.

Even on one leg Jimmy was still the leading scorer and led the team in usage for every series and was the driving force of the offense that led to a ton of open shots for the shooters. 2023 was certainly a team effort that allowed them to get to the Finals (as opposed to 2022 which was entirely a carry job) but let’s be clear they weren’t doing anything if Jimmy wasn’t out there.
