Doc Rivers is really going to trade away 3 of Giannis’ (admittedly old) championship teammates to bring in the worst contract in NBA history and one of the more overrated players of the last decade because he thinks he can fix him and he needs an off screen shooting guard for his offense. Unreal.

Possible trade target for us who becomes trade eligible 1 week from now: Jay Huff

Huff is a 7’1 stretch big who has bounced around the league for 3 seasons before having a really nice season so far this year with the Grizzlies, who rewarded him by converting his previous two-way contract into a standard one. He’s locked up for the next 3 years after this one.

The only reason he might be available is the same reason that Xavier Tillman was available from Memphis last year, they have a lot of good frontcourt players. Huff is clearly their 5th big in terms of minutes per game, behind All-NBA candidate Jaren Jackson, rookie starting center Zach Edey, emerging 6MOY candidate Santi Aldama, and back from ACL injury Brandon Clarke. With GG Jackson back in the fold, Huff received just 3 minutes in yesterday’s game vs. Minnesota despite Taylor Jenkins playing an 11-man rotation.

For a big, Huff has displayed a rare combination of rim protection and 3-point shooting ability.

Other niche reasons why he’s a perfect trade target for us is that he’s a 4-year college player which Brad loves (Pritchard, Grant, Baylor), adds to our contingent of under the radar impactful white guys, and his first name is Jay, how befitting of this era of team.

Been online all day at work and I periodically check to see how many are online or respond to posts. We’ve had about 100 of us on at a time today (112 right now). That one post about X has 1800 upvotes in 2 hours, which is like 150 new people every 10 minutes

I’m not saying that I disagree, it’s just a lot of people to get in a short amount of time randomly on a very quiet day when people hadn’t been on before.

I’ve watched a lot of basketball over a lot of years and it just does not get better than we currently have it. We’ve got two home grown superstars in their prime that are team players, high work ethic, good people off the court, and we are defending champions and serious contenders to repeat.

Enjoy it now because it won’t last forever and once it’s over you’re not seeing anything like this again for a long long long time.

Celtics starters are getting their mojo back. They are a +33 in the last 33 minutes they played, which is really nice because they were a -25 in the previous 167 minutes they played. They still have a negative NetRtg on the season, but went from a -8.9 to a -0.9

You might say “well look at who they’ve been playing” and to that I just counter with the fact that this team dominated when they should have last year. They won at home and they beat up on the bad teams. Since the start of December, we haven’t necessarily been winning games we should have or in manners we should have and this is especially true with the starters playing together.

We’d have a very different record right now if we beat up on the bad teams as often as we did last year, especially with our starters playing.
