We’ve got YouTube TV and it’s pretty great. Celtics are my priority, Red Zone is my boyfriend’s. We don’t watch much else tbh.

YouTube TV is a fine service, but literally none of them are worth the price. If your main concern is watching Celtics games, just pirate it. The NBA and cable companies are all but forcing regular fans into it at this point.

I have Hulu live and have no issues watching the Celtics…

Just switched to Fubo which was the only one I found offering Celtics, Bruins and Sox. All good so far and was nice to turn in all of those comcast boxes!

I’ve had Hulu Live the past couple seasons. I buy it as soon as the season starts, and cancel it the minute their season ends. I literally have it just to watch the Celtics.

IPTV is your friend, research it.

Fuck Xfinity. YouTube TV is good, but fuck em all. Guillotines were made for a reason.

Have you looked into Sling TV? I’m not saying you should definitely get it, but it’s worth looking into. I’m assuming you’re in the US. I got so frustrated because of not being able to watch a lot of playoff games last year, and then the Olympics on top of that. I have all these streaming services including League pass and I can’t watch the games that matter! So I pulled the trigger on Sling TV, at least for a little while. If you’re interested in getting as much NBA as you can including playoffs/finals, I’ve found that the best route IMO. I’ve only temporarily canceled my subscription because I got a free trial to league pass again, but League pass is some shit. I’ll go right back to sling as soon as the playoffs start.

For Sling, if you get the orange & blue package bundle, it’s cheaper than YouTube TV and it has ABC, TNT, and ESPN channels. Way better than NBA league pass, cheaper than YouTube TV (At least the last time I checked), and you get a bunch of other cable/network channels bundled in there as well.

And yes, Comcast/Xfinity can fuck right off. They can suck all the Ds. At least with Verizon you might be paying the devil but you know you’re going to get consistent, reliable service. Streaming services are really starting to add up for me, the whole cable cutting thing isn’t making as much sense as it did a few years ago, I’ve cancelled Hulu and several others… and I’m honestly debating just giving Verizon even more money to go back to cable, which I haven’t had in like nearly 10 years. What a time to be alive.

I did this shuffle this week. I ended up going with Fubo because I loathe YouTube’s privacy abuses and I wanted both NESN and NBC Sports Boston. So far so good.

I also cancelled Xfinity for Internet and went with Astound. Amazing so far. When you call in you don’t have to fight for ten minutes against an automated system designed to prevent you from speaking to a representative. Everyone’s friendly and helpful. My Internet is stronger and more stable—I don’t even need repeaters throughout my house to make it work in my office any more!

And to top it off Overall I’m saving about $120 a month.

Seriously the best part of my week was calling Xfinity to tell them to shut off my services. And when they asked why they got an earful. It was glorious.

YouTube tv is my favorite but Hulu is also really solid

DirecTV Stream is an option. I like it.

I was considering Hulu live, I used to have YouTube TV and it never had an issue

I think those are the two best bets but I don’t know anyone who has fubo

I got Hulu live. No complaints and I get Disney+ with it

YouTube TV is great except no Bruins and Red Sox. Don’t miss the Red Sox but I love the Bruins.

I’ve only ever had Fubo & YTTV. I never had any issues with the picture quality on either. I’d say I liked the UI just a little bit more on YTTV. The only thing that might make me go with Fubo was, I think it was the 2022 playoff run to the Finals…not 100% on it though, when I was watching on YTTV the game just cut out with something like just under 2 minutes left. I couldn’t get the game to come back in & ended up having to listen to the rest of it on 98.5. I gave them some crap about it though & ended up getting a free month.

I use YouTube TV. My sister, mom and dad use it as well and we split the costs between the four of us.

Leave it to a cable television provider to think in this day and age the best way to stem an ongoing loss of customers is by continuing to jack up rates and shove the sports networks they provide access to behind a higher-priced tier.

Cancelled Xfinity Friday for this reason. Trying to fubo free for a week.

Uzzu tv brudda, it looks sus as hell but I can watch any game any domestic league. I’ve used it for years and it’s never let me down.

Directv gave us free nba league pass for the rest of the season (rural celtics fan here).

You’re still gonna run into tons of blackout issues. I use redditnba streams, it’s free

Hulu Live works and I have it no issues for Celtics but doesn’t have nesn so no bruins or Sox. I think Fubo has nesn if that’s a concern.

i had fubo and thought the picture quality was off, i went with youtubetv and added the nba package for a total of 76 a month

I live in MT and am an avid Celtics and Red Sox fan. Spectrum was a joke and very expensive. They can join Comcast in purgatory. My solution was NBA League Pass and the MLB TV app. We have Hulu Live for games that are only on national channels (ESPN TNT ETC). We have to have a streaming service for local TV as OTA doesn’t get to our location.. YTTV was more expensive and more restrictive on remote viewing. The only issue has been when the Red Sox are in Seattle, as we live in their protected TV rights market.

If you care about the red sox and bruins I think fubo tv is the only one that carries NESN. You can get a 7 day free trial so you can try it out before you cancel xfinity. It’s 96 dollars a month after the trial the last time I checked. Youtube tv doesn’t have nesn but is cheaper at 83 a month. They have a 10 day free trial. Just make sure to cancel the trial before it’s over so you don’t get charged if you don’t want to continue the service.

YouTube TV can go to hell too. It used to be awesome until NESN left and they started raising the price.

YouTube TV is solid- not as good of a deal as it used to be, but still better than Comcast. Won’t get you NESN if you care about the B’s or Sox though

YouTube TV doesn’t carry the network that the Red Sox and Bruins play on if you’re a fan of all the Boston teams, just FYI.

I signed up for YouTube TV yesterday (free trial) but still couldn’t see the Celtics because it was blacked out in my area. I’m just north of Boston.

Am I doing something wrong? I don’t want the hassle of a VPN.

Find someone with a Verizon password and trade your hbo. Else try an IPTV service (not free but cheap), easily found by searching Reddit

YouTube tv isn’t bad. If you don’t live in Boston or that area you could try a vpn to get Celtics games

I’m lucky to have both YouTube TV and Hulu and for sports definitely YouTube TV it’s by far the best but if you include everything else at Hulu has, it’s not a bad option because you still get the Celtics

For what it’s worth I called Xfinity to cancel and they agreed to give me the Ultimate plan at my current price (less than 200) and upgrade my internet speed. They’ll keep this price for two years.

There must be a lot of people canceling because there is a recorded bot about NESN and NBCSports when you call in.

I had hulu but it would pause for a split second esp during a pitch, shot attempt etc. I called hulu and they walked me through a couple of resets that never worked. I dropped them and am now looking at Youtube. Interested in the other comments here..

YouTube if you also want to consider nfl. I had directv for nearly 25 years because of football.

Have you tried downloading the NBCSB app if you still have xfinity? That worked for me on my smart TV and I did not need to upgrade my package

Fubo is pretty great. They’ve got NESN which YoutubeTV does not. If you’ve got AppleTV or a Roku Ultra you can watch games with Multiview as well on up to 4 screens which is a nice bonus for college football Saturdays or NFL Sundays.

I have bounced back and forth between YouTube tv and Hulu Live for the last few years. I can say, Hulu has the better interface, YouTube has SLIGHTLY better picture quality/smoothness. Right now, Hulu is cheaper and offers a better bundle if you’re into that type of thing. And the Hulu originals appeal to some folks.

Not that it helps at the moment. But NBCSports Boston will be adding a standalone service similar to nesn+ this year. If all you really watch is Celtics you can get that and I believe you can get red zone as a standalone through YouTube.

YTTV and split it with like 2-3 people make them pay their part at the beginning of the year so you’re not chasing works like a charm

I’ll stick with xfinity and cable over streaming
